I have always had a pc at home, but have always had a mac at work. My pc started to become extremely unreliable, slow and complicated to sort so I decided to try a mac. I have had this version for about a month now and I have never looked back. Everything is so easy! We got BT internet and we were online within 5 minutes at the most, and that was the wireless too, something that had NEVER managed to work on the PC. We have a playstation 3 and always ... ...online, but not anymore. I have also loaded a game onto the mac, also very easy. It was a matter of dragging and dropping the logo from the disk folder onto the desktop, letting it copy (about 5 mins) and that was it installed and ready to play. No complicated options etc. to confuse you. Another thing it is good for is transferring files from your camera/mobile phone. You simply connect the cable via the usb port and it automatically ... more

I have had this version for about a month now and I have never looked back. Everything is so easy! We got BT internet and we were online within 5 minutes at the most, and that was the wireless too, something that had NEVER managed to work on the PC. We have a playstation 3 and always had to run an ethernet cable in order to go online, but not anymore. You simply connect the cable via the usb port and it automatically detects your files, be it photos etc. No need to install software disks that came with the camera.mobile phone. The machine also has a few fun items already installed. Most obvious is Itunes, but also Garageband and Photobooth. This is particularly entertaining as the webcam (inbuilt in the mac) is displayed on-screen and is basically like looking at yourself in a Hall of Mirrors if you view the special effects. Overall, this is an excellent machine and if you are comtemplating the move from pc to mac i couldn't recommend it highly enough.
Advantages: Speed, looks, ease of use. Disadvantages: None
I bought my iMac as I my "PC" was due for replacement and had become unreliable. A few of my friends have iMacs and I was instantly grabbed by the design and ease of use when I sat in front of one. Some of this is due to the software that comes pre-loaded onto the iMac. I went for the 2GB version with the 2.66 Processor as the prices had just dropped. The iMac boots up lightening quick compared to my PC. In around 15 seconds I can be using the system ... ...is extremely clear and at 20 inch - large enough for most people to use as their home computer. I thought I would be keeping the PC to one side to use when the iMac didn't have the ability to do a certain job but I have thrown it away now as everything I need to do works. The beauty of the iMac is that it does exactly what you except. No fuss, first time - every time. It comes pre-loaded with the operating system and iLife08 which had iPhoto, iDVD ...

Advantages: Looks, sounds, way it works, loveliness. (I'm not getting paid to say this) Disadvantages: The way it makes everything else in my house look terrible.
This computer has been in my house for just under a year, and its beautiful. It looks nice, it sounds great and it works fantastically. No problems at all with it. I would highly recommend this to anyone. No one could understand how great it feels just to pull this out of the box. You plug it in, you turn it on. It's very easy to use. This is the second computer we have had in our house, and it opened my eyes. It opened my eyes an told me "your last ...

Advantages: doesnt get viruses, fast, sleek Disadvantages: none that i can name
...another one in an instant. Apple in my opinion makes a great product that requires little in the line of maintenance. I love that i do not have to worry about those pesky computer viruses. My friends have all had computers that have crashed while my mac will never have a problem like they are experiencing. I love it and i believe that it is one good investment for a long term great running computer, especially for family use. ...

I have had my iMac for a year. With a dual core processor, this is one the fastest computers on the market. While I haven't put Windows parallels on it yet, I have heard from friends and family that it does very well with the parallels and doesn't freeze. I have had five or six computers and within a few weeks they slow down with all the data I put on them. For just a little over $1000, this lightweight desktop can handle almost anything you put ...

Advantages: great for doing things quick Disadvantages: can be tricky if you have never used a mac before as totaly different to windows
...never thought too highly of apple macs because i thought they where completely over rated. I tried one of my friends and i quite liked it. It was fast and had loads of cool features that aren't available of Windows. So i bought one. It is perfect if you like browsing the internet and especially good at photo editing and all of the other stuff in the package as that seems to be Microsoft's specialty. But if you are into gaming and doing loads of things ...
