I was outraged with MY new iMac.
For a start, where's the typical ugly black and white random writing a computer is supposed to show you when you turn it on? This iMac seems to switch on without that, instead displaying a cute blue screen. What about all that buzzing text telling me in great detail something I will never understand?
And why is all the software I would ever need already on there? I expected to have to BUY programs that let me burn DVDs, play DVDs, organize photos, play music, record video - or at least be forced to download ones from the internet that might conflict with the operating system.
And what ABOUT this operating system? Why is it easy and obvious? Why does it feel like its on my side? I want a challenge, not something that helps me navigate the contents of my Mac? And why does it all look nice? I can actually SEE these icons.
What about the keyboard and mouse? Why is it a nice flat ergonomic keyboard, and not the pudgy mess of plastic keys I'm used to. I want my carpal tunnel syndrome!! Call this a mouse? Why does it feel nice? Why aren't there gaps in it so filth and dirt can't get beneath the buttons?
And I'm furious abotu obverall speed and reliability. Why isn't there a hardware failure when I do something even remotely complicated? I run five or six programs and the damn thing won't crash. Not a blue screen of death anywhere! And if a program does start clamped up, which barely happens anyway, how is it that I can always force quit it without the rest of the machine crashing?
Why is the monitor thin, large, AND crystal clear? Where's my squint? Why don't I feel tired after looking at the screen for a few minutes?
And why does 2.8GHz feel faster on this machine? It's so thin and compact, how does it keep the speed up and the heat down? I'm going to write a letter about this.
All in all I'm completely happy with this computer - which I am really outraged about! I thought I had to suffer with computers.
Advantages: very lightweight for 2-in-one computer, excellent features(built in wirelesse etc) Disadvantages: a bit on the expensive side but its worth it!
The apple imac just looks so beautiful you cannot take your eyes off it!
seriously it is so slim and georgeous and where can you find another apple computer this thin? The great thing is that it hardly takes up space and the height of the screen is easily adjustable and strong so it shouldnt break easily.
As you might notice the screen is also very large and it looks great on the inside too with superb graphics. The performance is expectedly much ...

Advantages: speed ,power,Design Disadvantages: value for money
...were released. As soon as Apple released the updated Mac Pro in January, I picked one up. After using the iMac for so long, the Mac Pro was like a breath of fresh air. This machine is crazy fast. I loaded 10 GB of RAM into it and can pretty much have all my design apps open (mainly CS3) as well as run Parallels at the same time. I could never do this with the iMac. Overall, I'd recommend the Mac Pro to design professionals looking to run lots of ... ...You'll have to deal with the strange rebooting problem I mentioned above but I don't think it's a deal breaker. I've gotten around this by either shutting my machine down when I'm gone for long periods of time or setting the sleep cycle to never. It's not a great solution (I can't save electricity this way) but I think it's worth it for the power of this machine. ...

Best computer ever!! Review ofApple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz - 24" TFTby
chuck981996
Advantages: Comes installed with iLife and Mac OS X Leopard, All-in-one computer Disadvantages: Not a very detailed instruction manual
I cannot espress my joy for this product enough. It is beautifal sleek and easy to use. Made by Apple, Inc. it is truly a feat of engineering. Coming with Apple's Mac OS X 10.5 this is one fantastic computer. It comes installed with iLife witch includes, iMovie - Apple's movie editing software, iPhoto - Apple's photo managment and editing software, iTunes - Apple's music managment software used with their popular iPod and iPhone, and GarageBand - ... ...guitars. Whenyou considor that you can still install the ever popular Windows on a Mac, This is really the only computer you will ever need. Don't like Apple's own operating system? Fine! Just install Windows. Considoring that this computer comes with everything you need it really is much cheaper than the average PC. Overall I considor this a fantastic computer. ...

this is so good! Review ofApple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz - 24" TFTby
Scalawag
Advantages: Stable OS platform, fast, powerful, and looks absolutely stunning. Disadvantages: Cost but you do get what you pay for
...not difficult to sort out, apple store sorted it out within 30 secounds of me speaking to their staff. Great all round experience. I have upgraded the ram to 4Gb, I found loads of better deals than the upgrade offered by apple (its a bit extortionate when you see how much cheaper the same memory can be obtained elsewhere). Memory was easy to replace took me about 3 mins. This is the only upgrade for this system so no future mucking about with new ... ...system!
The system itself is lightning fast, comes with iLife which will cover most of your needs, I also bought iWork for an extra £55 which is kind of like office but looks much better and still does what most users will need.
I still have a PC laptop, but can't wait to change it for a mac also. Can't see me ever going back to a PC now, the Mac experience is just so much more complete and so much less frustrating. ...

Advantages: Super fast, super clear, super fun! Disadvantages: Hard to get used to if you've never owned a Mac
...is the moniter, mouse, keyboard, Apple remote and manual. No bulky towers and no complicated wires to plug in. You simply have to plug it in, type in whou you are, where you are and what the computer will be used for and you're off! Compare this to the set up of a PC, hours of complicated programming before you are allowed to use it.
Overall, the Apple IMacs are superb computers for proffessional or home use. Highly reccomended! ...
