This is the best computer I have ever owned and I will never buy a Windows again! Before I bought, I did wonder if the Windows-Mac compatibility would be an issue - it really isn't! Mac's can open mircosoft word, excel, and powerpoint files. You can download MSN Messneger and Windows Media Player for Mac, so that really isn't an issue. Although you can get Microsoft Office for Mac, I don;t think its worth it. All files in Appleworks, Pages, etc. can be exported to work on Windows very easily. I hardly ever gets stuck, and applications very rarely crash.
There are many great applications available for Mac that aren't available for Windows - for example, Garageband. If you're a musician, this proogram is for you! It allows you to record tracks for so many different instruments, add vocals, add pre-recorded backing tracks and riffs, and then, burn it to a CD or put it onto your iPod!
BUT!!! check with you're internet provider first that their service can support Apple's. I had AOL Broadband, which isn't compatible with Mac, so I had to pay off my AOL subscription and get Tiscali. The whole thing cost me around £250 and took about 3 months!!!!!!!! So, really do check this out.
Printers are great with Mac. I have an HP Deskjet and I just plugged it into the iMac and it installed it instantly, and it's never gone wrong!
Another great thing, you don't need any anti-virus software! Only 4 viruses exist in the world that can attack Mac's, and they come with world class security built in.
To summarise, this is without a doubt the best computer I've ever owned! I'd recommend it to absolutly anyone!
