Introduction

The much awaited release of the iPad came and went before we could turn on the future-bricks of hell - which I'm sure are the closest thing to the ancestors of the Armageddon, the iPads are smarter than humans already, they are only limbless; this separates them from us humans - nothing else, a technological takoever is only round the corner. Consider these the scouts, they video you, you feed them your information, you give them energy whenever they tell you, you give them a safety jacket to keep them safe...these are the first step to taking over the human race, next our toasters will be jumping into swimming pools - frying all leisure-seekers and coffin-dodgers alike. I apologize, degenerated on a slighy pessimistic tangent there, to say the least.

Back to the release of the iPad! Preorders were first taken in the UK on the 10th May 2010. They sold like hotcakes whilst the smug iPricks sat there earning millions for a degeneration of a mobile phone. It took a good 30 years to advance from the brick-telecommunication and after creating mobile phones the size of thumbnails, we took a small step for man, a giant leap for giant kind, and produced an over-sized iPod touch.

They are perhaps some of the most technologically intelligent people on the planet, so they obviously had a plan to scheme more money out of the wider public. After the iPads were sold out, a couple of months (if that) flew by and then there was the release of the iPad 2...

Once again the nation were taken by storm as the shelves emptied...filled, emptied...filled, emptied...and filled..getting the picture? The iPad 2's were the upgrade of the original, they reel you in with the iPod touch, they give you a tase of the iPad then release the iPad 2, so you've now bought all 3, triple win for them.

These spec's are unique to the iPad 2 3G 32GB model.

The iPad is clearly a step up from the original iPad with much faster processing speeds - all part of their master plan to empty your pockets.

The look of the iPad 2 is very similar to that of the iPad, it is rectangular with a glass-look plate on the front, and squared round the edges. being only 0.34 inches thick the iPad 2 is one of the slimmest tablet's around.

The iPad 2 has a memory of 32GB (32 Billion Bytes!! - sound impressive?) - in Laymans terms thats 8000 songs on average, that it could store...maximum.

It is very comfy to hold, mainly because it is so light (607g), the light weight also means it is very portable and easy to just slip in the Smart Cover and pop in a bag to carry around.

The Smart Cover is an accessory from Apple which folds down to double-up as a stand for watching films, streaming or just being a generally lazy-bugger.

Robustness and Durability are something I haven't tested first hand. but I've heard from friends who have dropped their iPad-containing bag down flights of stairs and the iPad still be in-tact after a bumpy 30ft ride.

Thankfully, like all other Apple products, if you know how, its easy...if you don't know how..it's like rocket science. Sounds like an obvious statement but you'd be surprised at how some people don't understand touch screen and sit for hours, pushing, shoving and twisting in desperation for a keypad. If you've had Apple products before...using the iPad 2 will be like riding a bike.

The extensive features on the iPad were baffling, and to no surprise the iPad 2 didn't let us down either! With 100,000+ Apps in the App-Store you can play games, to cut virtual hair - hell, if you're even cool enough you can download virtual bubble wrap = Win. This release of the iPad brought along a new excitement - a Camera, the world freaked and shreiked almost like it was a new invention - obviously just over-twisted hype from Apple marketting and the media. Still a nifty attatchment to the iPad.

Not really much to comment on the instruction manual, because as I said before - previous Apple customers pick these up like it's second nature. I didn't touch the manual, although it did help light the firepit.

Manufacturer Support is great on some days, and almost blasphemous on other days - all dependent on which operator you get. You could hitch yourself a free screen recover, or could be forced to fork out £60 or so. Another scheme from Apple iPricks.

Battery life on the iPad is fantastic, it can undergo mediocre intensity for 24-hours meaning you can be playing games, browsing Apps, and having a good time all day!

Money-wise this product can only be satisfactory, the iPad is way to overrated and is more an icon of wealth as apoosed to practical in any shape or form. If you can afford it - why not? You'll look cool, feel swuave and have the peasants kissing at your feet. iPad 2 cost between £380 and £800 depending on the spec of the one you choose, and memory size, the 32GB being around the £500 mark.

Summary

If you can afford to buy it, and you want one, then buy it...you live once! It is a mind-blowing experience just using one, they are fun, easy, simple and never get boring! You can find yourself bored anywhere and just decide to browse Apps or play games, countless things to do for entertainment!
