Apple iPad 2 review from an owner

I have recently purchased an Ipad 2, and as a whole I am very impressed. In my view it is essentially an alternative to a laptop, which could be a good or bad thing depending on how you see it.

Speed
The iPad 2 is generally very fast working on or offline. In my experience it hasn't froze, and I have not had a problem with it functioning slow etc. If you have a weak wifi connection it can occasionally be slow, but in most cases it is just as fast as using a computer or laptop.

Look and feel
Apple's new device looks extremely sleek and elegant, it is easy to handle and i have found it to attract only good attention when using it in public.

Memory
This is probably the biggest downside in my opinion. This particular 16GB version doesn't have the best capacity, as you could easily use 16GB of memory in songs alone, without the photos, apps or videos you may have stored on there. However, it is available in higher capacity models so it may be wise to purchase a model with more memory. Despite the fact higher memory models are available I think those ones are too expensive for what they are.

Portability
As i said the iPad 2 is more or less an alternative to a laptop, however it is much, much easier to transport. It can slip easily into a bag/briefcase. Being smaller than the average laptop it is more convinient when travelling, it also comes without the nuisance of having to fold the screen up and down with each use.

Ease of use
I found it very easy to navigate as i had experience with iPods etc. in the past. However, I think that if you have not had any apple products in the past it may take some getting used to.

Range of features
With the Ipad 2, from my view you are guaranteed good quality extras, as there are thousands of songs, videos, audiobooks and podcasts available etc., and you can also buy a wide range of speakers and accessories along with it. One downside, in my opinion, I will say is that there is no equivalent to microsoft word etc, which I think can be a a big setback if you are using the iPad for business purposes.

Value for money
The iPad 2 is a lot of money in my opinion, and I think it may be a little on the expensive side. However, it could be useful for business if you knew how to utilise it, or when travelling (it cured my boredom for hours on long flights recently). Despite the hefty pricetag, overall I think it is a good investment, as you can use it for hours at a time and not get bored.
