I bought this iPad on pre order when i first heard about the iPad coming out. I was amazed as it was almost the first tablet on the market. I always like to be the first to get the latest technology so i definately was not going to let this one go! I went to PCWorld to collect it the day that they came out. At first i was astonished on the box size as it was pretty thin, as i think everyone was use to the large laptop boxes! The cost of this iPad (Apple iPad Wi-Fi + 3G 64 GB) was approximately £560 which i thought at the time was pretty good for technology of its sort and for what you get.
When i got the iPad home, the packaging and layout inside the box was great, it was well packaged to stop anything breaking, which is good for me because i tend to drop things! The box which the iPad came in contained - the iPad itself, a charger, USB lead, user manual, warranties and step by step guides. Even by looking at the charger and the iPad you know what you are doing - it is so simple to use it is unbelievable, i didn't even have to look at the step by step guide for this bit! The iPad charged up in about 1 hour which is great, compared with other tablet on the market at the minute - obviously back then i had nothing to compare it to. Before i continue i have to say that i was amazed by the weight of the iPad it is so light! After charging, i turned it on via the front button again that was simple at it is about the only button on the iPad! It told me i needed to download iTunes and plug it in, again these instructions were given without the user manual or step by step guide so that was really easy
- the steps were clear and iTunes downloaded really fast and efficiently onto my desktop computer. I plugged in the ipad via the USB cable which again was simple and the iPad downloaded everything it needed onto itself without me even having to click a button which is great. It took about 30 minutes to download onto the iPad (it was its software) which is a good time!
Once i had downloaded the software onto it, i decided to get it running. I turned it on via the large button on the front which is hard to miss, for the next few bits i did use the step by step guide just to be sure! When i first turned on the iPad i was amazed by the sensitivity of the iPad even the slightest touch moves the ipad screen which is great. The ease of use was also amazing, the apps (applications) were clearly labelled and pictured which meant that i knew what all of them were. I must say the quality of the screen is amazing - literally HD despite the iPad itself not being HD. The Battery life of the iPad is also brilliant - for me it lasts about two days before it needs charging again - but i do use it alot. Although the battery does go down quite fast if you are watching videos/movies/TV programmes. The battery also goes fast if you are playing games all of the time, therefore the battery does last a bit longer if you are just browsing the internet or viewing images.
If you are going to buy the iPad i would definately recommend buying the Apple iPad Wi-Fi + 3G 64 GB simply due to the large amount of storage availble. 64GB lasts a long time - i currently have 30GB free and i have 100 images, 60 Apps, hundreds of songs, and the odd video, which for me is all i want on the iPad. 3G is also amazing for when you are out and about, it allows you to get coverage for internet anywhere, and the ease of access is brilliant. This iPad is also fantastic for if you are out and about whether it is just for a short trip or for a long journey abroad, just because it is light-weight small but fab! The durability of the iPad is also good - i have got to admit i have dropped it once or twice and nothing has actually happened to it! I have had this iPad now about one year and a half, and there is one little scratch on the screen but other than that it is in fab condition - which is great!
The quality of videos on the ipad is also amazing, the videos play with ease. The best app for videos on the iPad is definately YouTube which comes pre installed on the iPad. Videos play efficiently, there are thousands infact millions of videos to choose from which makes it great for everyone. Other Video apps are also available for the iPad from the App Store and also iTunes which i will coem onto later. The quality of sound on the Apple iPad Wi-Fi + 3G 64 GB is also amazing. The quality of the sound is astonishing. It is so clear, which is hard to get sometimes on phones, tablets or even laptops. Sounds are most populary downloaded from iTunes which is Apples music and video store, you can also download them from your computer or laptop when you plug your iPad in. There is a range of volumes available which is great for different circumstances and the loudest volume is actually rather loud which makes the Apple iPad Wi-Fi + 3G 64 GB a great tool for some music playing when friends or family are around. The quality of pictures as well are top class, all of the pictures are High quality and pixel free. Pictures can be saved of the internet, collected from apps, and also downloaded from your computer or laptop when you plug your iPad into it.
The iTunes store and also the app store are worldwide known for a reason, they are so easy to use, and the prices are cheap. Most apps from the app store are about 99p which is great for a game or app. Others can creap up to £1.79 but some are definately worth it! I would recommend reading the reviews on the store before downloading them - some are written by me! iTunes is also a great store supplied by Apple, on there you can purchase videos and music which are also cheap - approximately 70p per song which is cheaper than what you can buy them for from HMV or other music stores.
Apple's customer service is also amazing, they respond to emails promptly and the most important thing which i find is they respond to you calls immediately and don't put you onto silly music which is great! Despite me saying this about the Apple Customer service me myself have not actually had any problems with my iPad this was used for my iPod Touch.
If you are planning on buying the iPad whatever the generation or the GB i would definately 100% recommend getting a case for it! Just helps to keep it in good condition and brightens it up a bit - despite it being sleek, stylish and modern already! I would 100% recommend this iPad to anybody, it is great for everyone and is totaly fab!

How do 3 million pixels ?t into 7.9 inches? Brilliantly to make Retina display in the iPad mini incredibly sharp and vivid, we had to ?nd a way to pack every one of the 3.1 million pixels from the 9.7-inch iPad into a 7.9-inch display. Every pixel in a display has multiple signals telling it when to light up. And with a 2048x1536-resolution display, more pixels and more signals are placed closer together.
