Advantages Built in ipod, internet browser and overall apperance
Disadvantages battery life and price
My husband bought me my iphone 3gs for Christmas, I had dropped plenty of hints and it paid off for once! I think its about time I reviewed it now.
Getting started- The box is small but holds everything you need to get started, once you have the phone out the box you will find the small instruction manual, its very basic and helps you set the phone up. I took the sim card from the box and spent 15 mins trying to figure out where the heck it was meant to go, I read the instructions and realised there was a small metal pin which helps to insert to the top of phone (not in the back)! You need to open a apple itunes account using your computer, you need to do this to sync and download data to set the phone up, it comes with a usb cable to download the data to your phone. Once that's completed turn your phone on and away you go!
LOTS OF FEATURESTouch screen- The iphone touch screen is amazing, I have previously had touch screen phones but nothing compares to apple touch screen, Its sensitive and quick, it does not have a time delay when you touch it. You can touch or use your finger to slide the screen or shake it. The screen displays images very clearly.
Making phone calls- its very simple you touch the dial key pad and type the number or can be done via your contact lists, you can put it onto speaker phone which I use a lot dare I say when driving! Phone calls have excellent sound quality and as I said easy to use.Txting- I love txting on the iphone, it has a qwerty keyboard and makes it fast and easy to text, the keyboard is sensitive and takes a while to get used to at first, like most phones you can picture msg and video msg too.
Mail- you can send and access your email accounts with a touch of the screen, its very hand if your on the move. It has hot mail, yahoo or you can add your own email account like I did as I am with bt yahoo. It really makes a difference to see your emails as if you accessed them via your computer.Maps- the phone has a built in sat nav, yes a sat nav! It runs off of google maps, its easy to use, I did not think I would use it but have found I use it a lot. Like most sat navs you type in an address or postcode and it gives you directions to where you want to go.
Apps- Any smart phone wouldn't be complete without apps! Like I tunes you have the option on the touch screen to view the app store, there are thousands of apps to choose from, some are fun and some very practable. There are many free apps like facebook and banking apps, I cant live without the facebook app and also have a book reader app which I can download books to and read them off my phone, it comes in handy when you work nightshift. Apps are free or cheap, start from 59p.
