My first iPhone was the 3G not long after it's release date and I loved it. Since then, every upgrade has been for the latest iPhone as I cannot see myself using any other mobile phone. I have owned the 3G, the 3GS and now have the 4S.

You will never look at another phone again after having the iPhone, it really is all you need in one sleek, stylish, modern package. It's great for me as I have three jobs so I need to be kept in the loop by email so to have them instantly delivered to my phone is such a convenience. I also use the facebook and twitter applications a lot to keep in the loop with my friends and family, also a great boredom breaker for long journeys!

Appearance -

The 4S is more squared than previous iPhones but I like this, it looks more modern. The glass on the front reaches to the edge of the phone so it's well worth getting a case that will protect the corners so that if dropped, your screen doesn't shatter. I have owned iPhones for over 5 years and never cracked a screen but my sister has a few times! It costs approx £25 to get repaired. I opted for the black phone but it is also available in white. It just about fits in the pocket of my jeans but I need to pull it out when I sit down as it's not the smallest of phones! I feel the screen size is just right to be able to enjoy the apps and games to their fullest. The only button on the front screen of the phone is the home button, this has been present since the first iPhone so the design hasn't changed dramatically.

Battery Life -

When I first bought it I was worried about the battery life, with all these features as well as being a phone wouldn't it have to be charged every few hours...? No. I was pleasently surprised with the battery life, for the amount of use I have for it in the day I have probably nearly run it down after a full day of use by the night time. Bearing in mind I send and receive a few emails, surf the net, play my music, text quite a lot so I fully charge it each night and the battery lasts me all day.

Apps -

There are plenty of games and other applications that you can get for free, or pay for in the App section to make your iPhone more interesting and personalised. It couldn't be easier to download an application, go to the 'app store' via the link on your phone, either type in the search box the name of the application you would like, or if you are just browsing have a look at the top 10 free and paid applications. Once chosen, there is a little tab to click to install when reading about the application, it will then appear on your phone and begin to download wirelessly. Bigger files may need to be downloaded via your computer and transfered to your phone if your Wifi signal isn't strong enough. I have downloaded films wirelessley with ease.

Capacity -

Not to mention all the music it can hold, I sold my ipod on eBay after getting the iPhone as you really don't need both and of course you can swap and change the music whenever you like, just hook it up to your computer and Itunes and alter the music on your phone.

My 4S has 16G of space which is plenty for me, this holds over 10 games, 2000 photo's, over 20 albums in the music section and of course all my contacts and emails.

Usability -

For those who are afraid it will be too fiddly to work or that they won't get the hang of it - don't be. I have owned a lot of phones over the years and although this is the most technical (with all the apps and features etc) it is by far the easiest phone in terms of use. My mum was worried it would be too complicated for her but after a quick talk through it she was happy and now loves the ease of use of the iPhone. I also own an iPad which has the same menu system so Apple across the board have tried to streamline their products for ease of use.

I use my ebay / Amazon application all to time to buy things and pay for it right there and then, it's very handy for frequent sellers to see how their items are doing in auction on the go. You can check the weather for wherever you fancy, take a picture and email it instantly the list is endless. There are also fitness applications, cooking applications and even London Tube map applications, nearly every app you could think of has been created somewhere.

Camera -

The iPhone 4S has a much better camera to it's predecesors, it also has a flash which you can have on Auto, on or off. You can zoom in and out (although this diminishes the quality somewhat but this is to be expected) and also record good quality video. A lot of youtube videos for example are now filmed from mobile phones as opposed to handheld video cameras as the quality has improved imensley over the years.

Siri -

The iPhone 4S also has brand new technology, Siri. Apple boast that Siri is like having a personal assitant on your phone, you can talk to it and ask it to remind you of things such as events, appointments, shopping list etc. You can also ask Siri what the weather is going to be like, ask it to call or text a contact in your phone and then tell it what you want your text to read. Apparently the more you use Siri the better it understands your voice so initially, you may have a few teething problems with Siri not understanding you but over time, it should get better and better. At the moment, Siri only works to it's full capability in America, for example, in the UK you cannot as Siri 'where is the nearest McDonald's' as it will simply reply 'Sorry, I can oly search for places and businesses in the US'. I hope Apple make Siri UK compatable very soon as I think we are missing out on a huge number of features by not having it fully usable in the UK. I'd love to be able to ask Siri where the nearest petrol station is whilst I'm driving out and about and I am disappointed it is still not ready for the UK.

In my opinion, Apple have really set the trend in the smartphone market here and it's the best selling smartphone in the UK. I know a lot of my friends used to have Blackberry's and rave about them until they opted for the iPhone, now they see what all the fuss was about! It really a computer in your pocket and a whole lot more, you will not be disappointed!
