Apple iPod data cable is not an essential purchase as any iPod you buy comes with one with the exception of the shuffle.

However should you find yours broken or wanting an extra cable this is for you.

The cable is identical to the one shipped with your original ipod both in apperance and length. It comes with a locking dock connecter at one side and a USB connector on the other. The cable is designed to allow you to transfer your data to and from your PC/Mac or to charge the ipod itself .

I boughtone of these as spare as they were available for $5. I now have one at work for those emergency charges - and one connected to my universal dock at home.

I own generic cables for the iPod and this cable has no advantage apart from the locking connector on the dock side. This cable can cost more than generic ones.
