~~~~~~NANO!~~~~~~~~~ The iPod nano is a lovely design, small and discreet but still with the screen large enough to be useful. At 2GB it can hold plenty of songs for the average person (about 500, although that is only at a lowish quality). The nano is very light and slim and fits perfectly in my jeans pocket. It comes in a cute little case good for a present, with a white USB cable, some apple stickers and an instruction manual. The sound quality is brilliant, as is the screen quality.
On a personal level, I feel the problem with all iPods is the need for itunes. The features in itunes annoy me and I'd much rather that the iPods could be updated simply in My computer, although obviously this is a criticism of iPods and apple in general, not the nano itself. Another criticism of mine would be that an AC adaptor is not provided as standard, as I find it a nuisance having to have my laptop switched on when I wouldn't normally simply to charge it up. Another problem is that it is not user serviceable - the battery cannot be replaced easily, and it not the sort of thing you can pick apart and fix with a screw-driver (although to be honest, not many gadgets these days are!).
It features games such as solitaire and brick, and a cute music quiz which plays the intro of a song on your iPod and gives you a selection of songs of which to choose the correct answer. Other good features include the ability to hold photo's and show them on screen, handy if you want to show a pic to your mates, and music video features. There is a preset sound level, which is loud enough but not as loud as others I've had have been, and you can change th max volume to lower. The battery life is brilliant, I've listened to it lots since Christmas and I've only charged it twice.
I find the controls very easy to use, and previously I had a Creative Zen Micro which was nothing compared to this. It had a quarter of the battery life, and I found it fiddely.
There some other cool features such as games (which you download on Itunes), and a music quiz, so the nano gives a diverse range of features.
It comes in many nice colours, I have the silver one but it comes in black, pink, blue, green and a special red edition. I recieved this as a present from my boyfriend, and he refuses to tell me how much he paid for it so I can't comment on where he bought it, but they are around £100 from apple.
A must buy, I love it (despite my slight moan)!
