With a thin body, and a light weight model, this ipod is the perfect MP3 player to take anyway and everywhere, and listen to all your favourite songs.
What Can I Use it For? This iPod nano can not only store songs like regular iPods but it can also store your favourite pictures for you to take with you on the move. All of this is easy to transfer to your computer through a USB cable that connects your iPod directly to your Mac or PC, and opens up your itunes automatically, allowing you to drag your songs from your iTunes folders straight onto the iPod and then leave in to charge while you get on with anything else you have to do.
Music and Picture Accessibility Once your music is stored onto
your iPod, and you first start listening to it, it is very easy to get to the song that you want to hear. It sorts your music alphabetically in groups of - Your Playlists, The Artist, The Album, The Song name, The Genre and also the composer, if needed you can also search for one particular song, using the search option. This helps to make your music easy to access and listen to. There is also a menu which allows you to shuffle your songs and listen to them in a random order, which is good for long journeys on the bus, train or in the car. Pictures are sorted with one menu, and will allow you to ajust the "Slideshow Settings' so you can choose how long you view the picture for, and what kind of transition you want, if you should wish to view the pictures in a slideshow. When you start a slideshow, you can pause it at anytime to view an image for longer Another menu allows you to flick through all of your photos easily and view a specific one.
Battery Where the battery capacity is concerned,the iPod can be listened to for a long time, and it will clearly indicate how much battery you have left. Although when it completely runs out of battery, it will give you no warning that is about to do so, and turns itself off. The battery will charge when plugged in via the USB cord into your computer, and you can still listen to it while its charging if you eject it - it will still charge, but you can also listen to music. If your putting your iPod on charge, I strongly recommend you do this when the iPod is completely out of battery, if it isn't you will get less battery capacity next time you are listening to your songs.
Durability Owning this product myself, and being a clumsy person, I have a good idea of what the Durability on this kind of iPod is like. It is not prone to scratches, and continues to work after you have dropped it on a hard surface like a wooden floor. It also lasts for a long time without the signs of wear and tear, I have owned this for over a year now, and is still working perfectly fine. The headphones that come with the iPod in the first place are of very poor quality and after a month of using them, one of them stopped working completely, so I suggest that you invest in a pair of good quality earphones, which won't cost very much for you.
Extras As well as listening to music and looking at the pictures, there are many extras on this iPod that can be very useful, or boredom busting. These extras include -
A Clock- here you can set the time and date, and also view times all over the world, and when I say all over the world, I really mean that. From Asia to South Africa you can view the time!
Games- These include 'Brick' (a game of hitting a ball to destroy all the bricks above), 'Music Quiz' (a game where it selects a random part of one of the songs from your iPod and you have to guess which song its from), 'Solitaire' (a card game), and 'Parachute' (a game where you shoot down helicopters and there parachutes), these games are ideal for spare moments in the day where you have nothing to do.
Contacts and Notes- These are not directly created on the Ipod, you drag items from your computer to the iPod while it is connected to the computer and you put it in the right folder - easy as.
Stopwatch - A simple stopwatch where you can time laps etc. just like a normal stopwatch would.
Calender- Allows you to set tasks, To dos, and everything else that a calender allows you to do. (Very Useful)
Screen Lock- This allows you to set a code to lock your iPod, so nobody can access any of your music, pictures or anything on your iPod
Price The prices on these current iPods are quite high, but can be purchased secondhand or new from the web for much cheaper prices. My personal one was purchased direct from the apple store for approx. £99 but on the internet have decreased in price as the product was brought out a year or so ago.
I think that the iPod Nano is a great buy, especially in this gleaming sliver colour, which is not only simple, but looks great too! You should, as I said before, invest in a pair of headphones, as the original apple ones are prone to break within a short space of time.
