I am now on to my third i-Pod Mini, and again this is faulty! I've had problems with the batteries in the first two i-Pods - they were not retaining their charge, even when switched off. The latest unit I received yesterday from Apple as a replacement was a reconditionned unit. This was also faulty! The process in dealing with Apple is involved - a mixture of phione calls and on-line registration of a repair. The ability to return a faulty product to a shop is much, much easier and quicker. It took 2 weeks for Apple to collect, replace and deliver my replacement (defective) i-Pod.
Beware! I think either I've been very unlucky or that there is a batch of i-Pod Mini's which have a serious design fault. I've told Apple I want a full refund as I've no confidence in this product and have wasted too much time trying to get my hands on one that actually works!!
