With the world going crazy over iPods, I thought why should I be left out, being different I decided to go for the iPod Video. Having nagged my parents for over a month, I finally got for my 16th birthday. First looks did not appeal to me the exterior was big and like a brick, but I thought with all the excellent features the exterior wouldn’t make a big difference. But within the first week of having it, the problems began. The silver back cover was covered with scratches and marks even having kept it in the protective cover provided with the iPod. The material of the cover has surely not been designed to protect the iPod but actually on the contrary. This was only the first problem I was having; connecting the iPod to my computer to download my tunes was also a headache in itself. The iPod would continuously freeze when connected and after resetting it several times it finally worked.

One of the main disadvantages that I found with the video iPod or any other iPod for that manner was data from iPod could not be transferred from one computer to another. Going on holiday at Christmas I set up my iPod with all my favourite tracks, images and videos, but by the first day on holiday, all my tunes had been overwritten with my cousins.

If you’re looking for a music player that is easy to use, and with as little fuss as possible then video iPod is not the thing for you.
