Well, we have come across a few in our time. And, these are the best - and you can wash them. The ultra high-clarity plastic that they're manufactured from protects your screen like a dream, and we've even been able to increase the thickness without impairing screen brightness or clarity. Proporta realise that sometimes applying screen protectors can be a bit fiddly, so each kit contains a screen cleaning cloth and an application card to make perfect-fitting quick and easy.

On a whim, a few months back, I bought an iPod nano. I had been promising myself for months that I would. And I wasn't disappointed.
The nano is the member of the iPod family which lets you in on the 'game' without having to drop serious cash, costing around 139 UKP for the 2Gb model. And for that, you get a very sweet little machine. Basically, an MP3 player that's the length of a credit card, four fifths of the width, and the depth of a small packet of matches. It has a colour screen about the size of two postage stamps, and a touch-sensitive click wheel. On the bottom of the device, there are ports for both headphones and a USB data cable. On the top there is a hold button.
The interface is comparable to all of the previous iPods, which is to say that it's spectacularly easy. In fact, for a small electronic device, it has possibly the most easy to use interface available (which makes the fact that Selfridges are charging people sixty five pounds an hour to teach them to use their iPods just slightly ridiculous).
It comes with four games built in: Brick, Music Quiz, Parachute and Solitaire. Other features include contacts, calendars, notes, a stopwatch. The backlight is strong, and the typography clear - I've had no difficulty in reading track names or accompanying material, in spite of the small size of the screen.
The storage inside is flash memory. This accounts for the small size. It also means that the unit is virtually noiseless in operation, and that there are few mechanical things to go wrong. The downside of this is that it's quite likely that the flash memory will wear out quicker than the hard drive.
Getting music on to the nano is simple. You plug in, set up, and your tunes sync on automatically. If you only want a subset of songs on your nano, set up a playlist called something like "iPod Music" and get iTunes to just sync that. You can then drag on the music you want to listen to.
Podcasts are especially good on here, as you can see the images which are delivered in the RSS in pretty decent quality. I primarily use my nano to listen to podcasts, and it does it's job perfectly. Most MP3 players are designed not to cope with things longer than a few minutes, but the iPod supports bookmarkable files and even syncs the point at which you pause back to iTunes, so that you can continue listening on your computer. This is very useful if you've experienced the alternative - carrying scraps of paper around so that you can write down where you got to in the show.
The contacts functionality is also very useful, and has served to get me out of a few scrapes when my mobile wasn't working. The calendar doesn't show all-day events, which is quite annoying, but otherwise is a useful sync with iCal.
Should you buy a nano? Yes, on one condition - you get yourself a case or cover as soon as you can. I would recommend the covers made by The Invisible Shield (Google for them - they're a Utah-based company who make super-strong plastic covers for all sorts of electronic devices). Since getting my cover, I've dropped my nano a couple of times in ways which, without the cover, would have scratched it up enormously. It is extremely prone to scratching.
Despite this, Apple make the only MP3 players which I've found which do everything I need. It doesn't have an inconvenient drag-and-drop interface (computers are supposed to automate, right, not force you to do the filing!). It supports podcasting better than any other player. And, if you install Linux, you can do some rather neat things with it. Buy one, get a cover, and you won't be disappointed.

...I get more of them. Apple have tried to sort this out by providing a sock for our Ipod which does seem to work but it does cost more as an additional feature.
Value for money
All I am going to say is I brought mine 2 years ago for £140 and they cost around about the same today, I think it has been possibly the best investment I have ever had and I wouldn't consider even for a minute switching to a different sort of mp3 player. ...

I first got an Ipod nano in October and since then have enjoyed pure crisp music from it. The sound is impeccable and even when the nano is turned up to full blast the sound still remains crisp and static free.
- Ease of use -
The nano is very simple to use it has inherited the classic Ipod click wheel so any one who has previously owned an Ipod will no how to use it straight away, however if you are like myself and this is your first ... ...to use all of the menus are clearly laid out and it is very easy to get used to however if you are like me and have large hands u will at first find it hard to use the click wheel but after a while you will get used to it and find it easy and simple to use.

...opted for the rather small Apple ipod Nano in the trendy black finish.
The dimensions for the ipod are 40.64 mm Width - 88.89 mm Length and 6.858 mm depth which is quite small and looks like it could be uncomfortably so sometimes.
You may well know the nano's have had a bit of a bad start with faulty screens etc and although I can touch mine I have used my friends.
It sits snugly in the palm of your hand but is a little to small to strap anywhere ... ...so you can tell the apple quality straight away with the box.

As you will of realised Apple seem to be at the top of the MP3 player tree. They were one of the first to develop the MP3 player going back to 2001 and have basically been leaders in developing smaller and lighter players. With the Nano, Apple have created something that looks fantastic but is also easy to use and weighs next to nothing, only 42g! That's like a "Grab a bag" of Walkers crisp or something. The Nano comes with all the relevant cables ... ...running of the Ipod and Apple do a pretty good job with updates etc. But they don't let you know often enough, plus I tried to update the software on mine at work (Mac) but couldn't because I had formatted it on a PC and I had to do it at home, a little annoying.
The 'Click Wheel' is a fantastic invention, it makes navigating easy and one fingered, sometimes it can be temperamental and doesn't scroll. I have had to Force Restart only once since ...

...I have had mine for some time now and i can tell you it is weel worth it! I can store over 400 songs as well as several photos and my entire calender and phonebook! The dial is so easy to use considering its size, and on-the-go play lists can be created with no effort when on the go if you fancy a change of tune. I Recomend this product to anyone looking for a small and handy MP3 player and for anyone who just wants to play some tunes on the go!

...Ipod nanos store lots of songs and can also store photos. It has an easily acsessable system, any amature could find the song, artist or album they wanted very easily. It also can stay on for 14 hours so its great if you leave your charger at home! also if you press the hold button, when you put it into you bag or pocket when the buttons get touched they will not alter what you are listening to. It also only weighs 42g!! It has a great size and is thinner than a standard pencil. Some things may be hard to understand but i found it really easy. You can also get lots of acessories for the ipod nano to make it easier to carry around, make it more secure or stop it from gettin damaged if dropped....

...I love my ipod nano. This was my first ipod before this i had just had cheap mp3 players. Many people tried to discourage me from buying it saying that is would break. People who have broken the screens on the ipod nano must be elephants. I went for the 2gbnanoi have found it to be plenty big enough. The features are very good, but for the photo storage i think it is a bit pointless as the screen is way to small to view pictures only 2.5". If u are planning on carrying the nano in your pocket i would recommend u buy a case as i have done and its great.
The battery life is also very good i get around 10 hours from unlike the advertised lenght of 14, but it is still good....
