Got my first iPod for my Christmas, to replace my old MP3 player and I couldn't have been happier.
After getting used to the initial fidgety, circling my finger round the buttons to navigate the menus I was having great fun playing music, games and videos.
The 4G nano is different from the 2G in a few ways. Firstly the screen is quite a bit bigger. This makes it better to play games on, the maze game is particularly good.
It is also motion sensitive so playing games is alot more fun. Guiding a small ball around a maze collecting things, while tilting the iPod in all different directions is fun. The motion sensitivity also means when looking through your music albums, when you tilt the Ipod on to its side, the screen flips around and allows you to have a better look at your album covers.
Adding to the motion sensitivity is the feature of 'shaking' the Ipod so that it shuffles to another song. So if you're using your iPod on the go then putting the lock on is advisable to stop any unwanted change of songs.
As of yet, I haven't tried playing any videos on it. I don't think there is much point because of the size of the screen and it will take up too much of its memory. So, I doubt will ever experience this feature on my own iPod.
The sound qualtiy is great, although unless the music is crackling I can't really tell the difference.
I use my iPod mainly for going out jogging. After buying the strap which goes on your arm I set out on a run. There is no loss of quality and there was never any skip in sound on any of my songs.
The slim design means it's easy to carry around in your pocket, although as it is so light if it falls out, your not going to notice.
Navigating through the menus is extremely simple once you get used to it, which only takes about 5 minutes if you haven't had an iPod before.
The battery life is okay, I thought it might be a little longer. Fortunately, it charges up extremely quickly. So, I've never had a dead iPod yet. Not exactly sure how long it lasts for but unless your going on a very long journey you should be okay. I think playing games and videos decreases the battery quite a bit faster than just listening to music.
There are many other features including clock, calendar, stopwatch and more, but I generally don't really use these features. So can't really comment on them too much. However, while trying to use the stopwatch I noticed that it's very easy to hit the wrong button and quit out of the stopwatch, which can be frustrating.
Advantages: Loogs great, easy to use, good battery life. Disadvantages: Not all of the new functions work and sometimes get in the way of listeing to music.
Advantages: Great product, nice audio playback. Beautiful screen Disadvantages: Short battery life when playing games. A couple of very small annoyances.
