I received the new iPod Nano (3rd generation) as a gift and so can't really comment on cost. For those of you not "in the know", this is the latest (and cheapest) incarnation of Apple's iPod Nano range with one key new feature: video. This is the first Nano to be able to play video and, in my humble opinion, it does it very well. Although the screen is of good size (2 inches diagonally) for watching the occasional music video or video podcast, it will by no means replace your TV or PC monitor so do not expect it to.
The interface, new to the latest range of iPods, is aesthetically pleasing and very smooth. It includes Cover Flow, Apple's album art browsing experience made familiar with iTunes, and a nice photo-browsing interface. (I personally put about 15 of my favourite photos on it so I can show friends and family informally.)
The one thing that really surprised me about the product was that, no matter how many photos you see of it, you really can't appreciate just how thin this device actually is. It is just over 0.5 cm thick, about the same as a USB pen drive or stack of three coins. This thickness, though technologically amazing, may not be practical for everyone. If you are worried, I suggest somehow getting a hold of one for a minute before you buy.
That said it really is hard to find any problems with the device. The sound quality is at the high standard of other iPods and the supplied accessories (USB cable, basic instructions and, what I believe is, a universal dock adaptor) are perfectly useable. The only thing I feel may become a problem is the shiny metal back plate. Though attractive, this quickly becomes scratched or smudged by fingers.
Overall this is a great music device with no major flaws that is still relatively cheap.

For a product of this kind you could include masses of info, so for me this review would not be a decision maker, have a look at some other reviews, if you do make any changes let me know and i will read again. . .
