Introduction At the begging of December I decided to treat myself to a new iPod. I had previously owned the iPod nano version 2 and I was impressed with it and decided that I would go for the third version of the iPod. When I got the iPod I had to check id been given the right thing as the box it came in was so small you would expect that it would have a necklace in it or something, but I had indeed got the what I had ordered.
Packaging The iPod was packed in a hard plastic case which was taped up and quite hard to get into. The iPod was then on a plastic board which help the iPod in to a secure place so that it wouldn't get bashed about. The plastic board was resting on a small cardboard sleeve that contained the USB cable, earphones,
instructions, warranty details and some stickers with the apple logo on.
Setting it up The iPod was very simple to use, it had already been part charged so that you can turn it on after you have taken it out of the packaging. To turn it on you hold down the down the play button and the apple logo is displayed for about 10 -15 seconds. This is part of the iPods initial set up. The iPod will then ask you to select your language which is done by moving your finger round the iPod touch wheel until your language is highlighted, at that point you press the centre button on the iPod which selects your choice. Once you have done that the iPod is ready to be used.
Downloading iTunes To be able to put music on your iPod you have to download iTunes and install the software from the internet. Once you have downloaded it the set up process is really easy it basically does it all for you. The next thing to is put your CDs into the computer and upload them on to iTunes. This process is simple you literally insert your CDs and iTunes will recognize that you have inserted it you then click import in the right hand corner and as long as your connected to the internet iTunes will find out the track id for you. When the CD has been imported you will hear a bleep you can then put your next CD in and repeat the process. When you have imported all your CDs you can drag any music files you may have on your computer into your iTunes library and you will then be able to put them on your iPod. Once you have added all your songs to your iTunes library you can then download any songs you like from the iTunes store by clicking on the ITunes store tab and typing in the artist, or song name on the search. You can then click purchase and create an iTunes account which is simple and takes around 5 minutes. Your song will cost 79p and can be paid by credit or debit card, or if you have an iTunes voucher you can use that. ITunes vouchers are available from most electrical shops. You can download iTunes from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/
Syncing your iPod To sync your iPod you first open up itunes and plug in your iPod and your iPod will automatically sync with iTunes and your entire music collection will be downloaded to your iPod.
Charging your iPod. To charge your iPod you simply plug it into your computer and it will start to charge this can take between 2 - 3.5 hours to fully charge. Sound quality The sound quality on the iPod is excellent. You won't be able to complain about it. The earphones that come with the iPod are also brilliant and give superb sound quality. Picture Quality The display is colour and gives a very good picture. I was amazed when I watched a video on it the picture was actually better than my TVs.
Battery The battery can last up to 24 hours it goes quicker the louder you listen to it, the more games you play on it and when you watch videos.
Price The iPods start from £99.99 for a 4 GB version and for the 8 GB version it costs £129.99 the iPod is excellent values for money and you can't really fault it.
Recommendation I would defiantly recommend this to any potential buyers it's a really good, easy to use mp3 player. Which has many features that other mp3s don't have such as the ability to play and download games and videos. It also has a decent screen size and quality. This ipod is a definate must.
