If the thought of this drives you crazy, the simple flick of a switch allows you to play your songs in the order they are arranged on your itunes software.
Now what makes this so different from the previous ipod shuffle? It's still 1GB yes (which allows you to hold approximately 250 songs), but the crucial difference is in the design. Its tiny!
The second generation shuffle has a small, sleek design with a handy clip to rear which allows you to attach it to your clothing hassle free. I feel this is very good for runners/power walkers as it means they do not have to carry it. The recent advertising campaign on tv suggests "putting some music on" and literally this is very easy to do with this product. You can attach it to all types of clothing and the sturdy design means there should be no apprehensions about losing this. Due to the discreet nature of the product it is also very good in deterring possible thieves as it is not easily identifiable where it is on the body.
It is very easy to navigate the controls as there are very few buttons on it. Perhaps one of the very few drawbacks to this particular ipod is the fact that there is no screen displaying the artist/song. For me personally this is not a problem at all. For a very reasonable £55 you simply cannot expect to have all the features the other models of ipods have.
A key concern as a regular commuter was how long the battery would last for and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that you actually get about 12 hours battery life before having to recharge. This is quite a slow process as it takes around 4 hours to fully charge via the portable dock that comes with the product via the PC.There is definitely no quick charge function here! If you wish to take this on holiday etc I would recommend purchasing a seperate charger which retail for around £25 in most good electronic/computer stores. The battery life is indicated every time you turn the shuffle on by a coloured light representing the strength of charge, which is a handy little feature.
With the shuffle comes earphones, as you would expect. These are similarly of a high standard and help to produce excellent sound quality from the product. The only word of warning to any possible purchasers would be to check that your PC can run the itunes software needed. Some older versions of Windows cannot and this can lead to great frustration as I found out ot my cost!
I hope this review has been helpful to you as there are so many mp3 players and ipods out there it is hard to know what one to go for! Hand on heart I am extremely pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone.
Advantages: Tiny, lightweight, does it's job Disadvantages: Can't detatch clip at back
I received this item free from a reward website last month, soon after this model was released. I was actually supposed to recieve the 1st generation ipod shuffle, and was extremely happy to find that they had in fact sent this newer model of the ipod shuffle, a third of the size and weight of the old model, yet it holds the same number of songs (1GB= 240 songs approx). This particular shuffle, has a small unnatachable clip on the back so it can ... ...only downfall, I would say, is that the clip makes the ipod shuffle twice as thick, so it would be favourable if you could remove the clip and perhaps wear the ipod shuffle around your neck, as you can with the old model. Unfortunately this isn't the case, so if you have nothing to slip the ipod to, the clip just adds extra bulk to the shape, and renders useless.
1.62 inches long and about half an ounce, this holds up to 240 songs, which is more ...

...which is also very confusing. Apple provide a card which explains what the little light is trying to communicate (we hope)
The ear pieces aren't very comfortable you would think Apple could do better and make them a better quality.
Good Points
Easy to use controls forwards, back, pause, play , volume control and bobs your uncle pretty straight forward no problems. The sound quality is excellent and the bass impressive. The itunes software isn't ... ...site. Integration is flawless too.
The Shuffle is small lightweight and very smart looking and has a clip on the back. This can be attached to your clothing and is great for people who like exercise. Ok for walking to the pub. The clip is quite secure fastens to your pockets sleeves etc.
The iPod shuffle is only available in a 1GB model. This should hold about 250 songs, which I think is quite adequate . It costs around £55, you can get cheaper ...

I really like my ipod shuffle. I know tht u cant choose songs but if you organise it in alphabetical order its not really a problem. 1gb is also relaly good considering the size of the thing. I was also impressed with the alluminium case, itl probly last me quite a long time if i dont lose it. It stil came with standard headphones, but ive always really liked these, and think its pointless wasting anymore money on a different pair. The supplied dock ...

Advantages: Very strong and portable. Extremely good value for money. Disadvantages: Some may prefer a larger capacity. Other than that, no disadvantages at all.
The iPod shuffle is, without ANY shadow of doubt, the best MP3 player I have ever owned. It is incredibly strong for something of it's size and weight. The day I bought mine I accidentally sent it flying across my kitchen, to find it had no damage whatsoever. I recently fell off of my skateboard with the iPod clipped to my belt-loop, landed directly on it, and the little thing still works perfectly, despite having had 89kg fall and slide on it. The ... ...The capacity, while nothing amazing, is perfect for those wishing to listen to a few tunes whilst on the go. It holds around 200 songs, depending on file size, which for most people is just fine. With the miniature size of it, and the clip on the back, the Shuffle is very portable, and can be clipped to pretty much anything, like belt-loops, tracksuit trousers, shirts, jackets, backpacks etc. The clip is very strong, so the iPod won't just fling ...

I bought a new phone from O2. After getting it all sorted out I was told I qualified for a FREE iPodshuffle. I already had an iPod Nano which I had bought the previous year ago so now I had two!
The iPodShuffle1Gb is the secondgeneration of Apples highly famous iPod series. It was released in the UK at the start of 2007 being called "The Worlds Smallest Music Player" which was quite right. Later on they released 8 other colors, since they had only released them in silver. The colors range from blue (2 shades), pink, red, orange, green (2 shades) and purple. I love the design and think it is really stylish.
It came in tiny box, just bigger than the shuffle itself. It came with a 1Gb memory which is around 250 songs. In the box was the Shuffle its self, ear phones, USB port and cable and a user manual. To set it up, you need i ...

You might as well call the second-generation Apple iPod shuffle "the iPod Microscopic." Still screenless, the silver anodized-aluminium iPod shuffle continues the shuffle tradition of blind control while listening to music.
