I have been looking into the development of iPods for quite some time now, but I am very sorry to tell you that still it has not been able to impress me to that extent so that I get up and say “I got to get one”. I have been having a closer look at these iPods, specially the Apple ones through acquirements of my friends.
Although I was against it, yet my cousin brother, just 12 years, made a mess of my observations and went for it. In fact what he had to say was that I was to conservative about money and once I had a look at it and listen to it, my ideas will change and with it he will prove that my observations were wholly technical and not based on practical experience. Again, I repeat I’m sorry it is very good even fantastic but no point going ga ga over it. Simply because I’m not prepared to compromise with Touch’s or, for that matter, any iPods, almost one hundred percent dependency on iTunes for synchronization of the music. It’s exactly this particular basic drawback that has put me right off from buying an iPod even if it’s the celebrated Apple iPod Touch 16 GB (2nd Generation).
I agree 200% that it’s the best available dedicated media player. Excellent looks, slick layout, great in fact unmatchable software options, even great audio quality, yet it has failed to impress me at an aspect which matters, at least to me, most. The frequency is very flat meaning thereby, it does not emphasize on any group of frequencies, add very little noise, cross talk is perfect but it’s out put power is low, which naturally gives massive problems with big headphones that could have lower ceiling on their maximum volume potential which is a disadvantage. I don’t know the reason but headphone accompanying it is, to use a single term, bad. Yes bad.
It is dubbed as the “funnest iPod ever”, agreed it has all in it, music, videos, photos, podcasts, e-mail, Web browsing, Internet radio, games, Nike+, Wi-Fi music downloads, and an App Store for adding thousands of custom features. Fine, no disagreement there. It’s a portable device with great screen, big, bright and scintillating, remarkable battery life, lots of programs available. Now here again no bluetooth, a separate iTune software is required at that. It’s got a fabulous equalizer but the problem is you can not customize it to your requirement.
Now let me be very explicit, it has got a great interface and allows multiple touch points of contact at a time so you get more option compared to most MP3 player with a touch screen. The hardware is excellent, no doubt. If you are really bent on buying an iPod, just get it you won’t feel bad. That’s a promise. But if you are looking for real quality music go for the traditional stuff.
What ever be the drawbacks it’s a quality product, I may have problems but you should not at $299 or slightly less.

Additionally, Apple tend to make their brand exclusive, hence resulting in pricey 'commitements' (such as the 3.0 firmware update recently for £5.99/$9.99, acessories on istore quite $$) so if you are buying Apple technology, stay aware of all these little extra payments which may result in a lot of money spent. And most importantly, the iPod variety (for those who are not familiar with iPod players) depends only on synchronization ... ...happens to the library of your computer is done to the iPod. This is also inconvenient if you want to share music with friends, as the iPod does not have a 'plug in' ability like flash drives to copy music as it will synchronize with the iTunes library it is connected to. This has to be one of the best I-pods I have ever bought, I was very happy with every aspect of it, (well almost). To be honest though, there has not been much changed from the first generation, so if you already own that, it's not really worth it.
Look and Design
It's very light and thin, and portability isn't a problem. It also looks pretty good, the back is made from stainless steel, which looks pretty cool, one problem though, it's the ... ...the clumsy. The screen is pretty durable though. The front looks pretty cool too with a high-tech yet simple shiny black surround the screen.

In my opnion this should go down in the Guiness book of records. Pros: Touch screen Such Fun games Easy to function Motion sense Facebook Wifi Free internet Lasts for years I can say i truly truly loved my ipod until i dropped it in water and broke it after the warrenty. I actually Jailbreaked my ipod so i could download free games and stuff which made it even more. I could be on it for hours on end not getting bored exploring different applications ... ...it on holiiday or on the bus and sometimes even miss my stop. Videos is excelent music and photos 100% reliable Cons Battery life is really rubbish if you playing games on it wont last for more than 2 hours so disappointing. The back of the ipod gets seriously scratched once you've had it for aobut 1 month which then makes it look really old. So advice buy a case. Its also a magnet for finger prints and people always asking can i have a look at that? ...

...I would never buy an Apple iPod, but I went back on my own promise just a couple of weeks agio when I gave in to temptation, and boy am I glad I did.
The sleekness of the actual product is amazing, and it is well worth getting a case and screen protector for it as you wiill just want to keep it looking as great as the day you first get it out of the box.
Now on to what this little beauty can do. It is Wi-Fi enabled, so although you cannot access ... ...mobile), you can do so in a Wi-Fi enabled area, so you can get access to your favourite internet sites and even the iTunes store to download your music/podcasts to the iPod's memory instantly.
