I bought this dock about 4 months ago and I have been using it on a daily basis every since, I got this dock so that I could play my music through speakers (without unplugging headphones) and use the remote so I don’t have to move to change the song and FF,RW etc (lazy).
I have been using this dock for around 4 months on a daily basis and I think that the dock is wicked, I have had no problems with the dock and it has made my music listening much more enjoyable because I can use the remote to control the Ipod (Remote Purchased Separately). And I don’t have to remove the headphones to use the speakers as the dock has a 3.5 audio jack built in, and I can use the dock for data transfer with my pc as well as charging through the mains (cables have to be bought separately too). And scene as though I have the video Ipod I can use the docks inbuilt S-Video connector to hook it up to my TV and watch my movies in full screen.
For the price I think that the dock is well worth it (although there are some cheaper versions on the market). It does what I need to be done and makes things much easier for me.

Overall I think that the dock is a product worth investing into by any ipod owner and the benefits will outweigh the price you have to pay for the dock.

I used to use the wire that comes with the ipod, to sync it, but it generally just hung down from my usb connecter onto the floor (my computer is low down). I accidently stepped on it and somehow managed to break one of the connecters off which stopped it working. i was now unable to sync or charge my ipod so i went back to where i bought my ipod from in search of a new connecter lead. i ended up coming home with this fantastic piece of technology which was recommended to me by the guy in the shop. its really worth the money and very useful to charge and sync my ipod without looking messy. it sits on my desk in style....

Advantages: Line out, s-video out, charge, sync, stand, remote control. Disadvantages: Expensive for what it is.
...First of all, i purchased this when buying my 30GB black, a couple of things made me like this dockingstation, i prefer plugging it into my surround sound system so i this is why i went for it has a 3.5mm line out. Then, i could watch my music videos, using the 'S-VIDEO' out on the back of the dock. And i can charge/sync my ipod using the apple socket at the back. Only problem i found was, if you want to control your ipod remotely you have to purchase the apple remote. Which is another £20 in the shops, what i would reccommend which is what i did, was purchase a apple remote of ebay, obviously you might not be as lucky as me, but i managed to get one for £11 inc delivery off there.
Also a good stand for it to sit there and look pretty :) and it comes with all the adapters to fit all ipods....

...I bought the dockingstation along with my ipod because i felt that the station would be far more elegant than simply plugging the ipod in and leaving it sat on the desk. The dock comes very well packaged and is also supplied with adapters to allow connection with any type of ipod that has a dock connector on the bottom. The connector can be plugged into any computer via the usb cable that is supplied with the ipod. My setup however requires the power supply adaptor to connect it to my stereo in conjuction with the apple remote, and in these conditions the universaldock is excellent it works well with the remote and the two are very responsive.
The dock connector is well built, there is a good weight to it (this helps if the connector is on an uneven surface) and the rubber padded bottom givea a large amount of grip, mine is perched...
