I have been using this dock for around 4 months on a daily basis and I think that the dock is wicked, I have had no problems with the dock and it has made my music ... ...to control the Ipod (Remote Purchased Separately). And I don’t have to remove the headphones to use the speakers as the dock has a 3.5 audio jack built in, and I can use the dock for data transfer with my pc as well as charging through the mains (cables have to be bought separately too). And scene as though I have the video Ipod I can use the docks inbuilt S-Video connector to hook it up to my TV and watch my movies in full screen.

For the price I think that the dock is well worth it (although there are some cheaper versions on the market). It does what I need to be done and makes things much easier for me.

Advantages: Clean design, Does everything you could want. Disadvantages: nothing
This unit follows the clean simple design of the ipod perfectly. Such a simple design yet I wouldn\'t want to be without it now.
The dock is very solidly built with a weighted base so the it stays in place and doesn\'t fall over when the ipod is sitting in it. A range of adaptors are provided so that the same base works with most of the ipod range (new adaptors are now provided with the ipods themselves). How many times have you gone to connect ... ...5 minutes trying to find the end of the cable and then having to untrangle it from the rest of the wires behind your PC. This simple device means that you can simply drop the ipod into the dock within seconds. The dock also has a second purpose too. By using an S-Video cable you can connect your ipod to your TV so that you can watch all your downloaded movies, TV shows and Music Videos on a much larger screen or simply use the audio out socket to ...

...stereo in conjuction with the apple remote, and in these conditions the universal dock is excellent it works well with the remote and the two are very responsive. The dock connector is well built, there is a good weight to it (this helps if the connector is on an uneven surface) and the rubber padded bottom givea a large amount of grip, mine is perched on top of the tv which has a sligthly sloping top and the connector sits there perfectly. The unit ... ...that it is a quality apple product. The unit has also had some use, i have now had mine for 3 years and the unit is fine, even after moving house numerous times.
The big issue that i have with this is the price, i feel that even thought this is a hugely impressive product it is overpriced. this is the only thing that stops me giving this product a 5 star rating. ...

...users who already have a Apple Remote. Otherwise they can be purchased seperately for around £15. The remote allows the user to fully controll playback features of the iPod from anywhere within the room. The infra red signal can not travel through large obstacles like walls. The biggest downside to using the dock, is that if you have chosen to protect your iPod with a case that is any bigger than a sticker. If you have a smaller iPod with a case ... ...will have no support from the dock itself. This solution is not perfect but is acceptable as long as the dock is not in a location where the iPod is likely to be knocked. If you are looking for a good aesthetically pleasing way to connect your iPod to a computer, stereo, or TV the dock is a good choice. ...

Advantages: Line out, s-video out, charge, sync, stand, remote control. Disadvantages: Expensive for what it is.
...charge/sync my ipod using the apple socket at the back. Only problem i found was, if you want to control your ipod remotely you have to purchase the apple remote. Which is another £20 in the shops, what i would reccommend which is what i did, was purchase a apple remote of ebay, obviously you might not be as lucky as me, but i managed to get one for £11 inc delivery off there. Also a good stand for it to sit there and look pretty :) and it comes ...

The apple ipod universal dock mp3 player docking station is really fantastic. I used to use the wire that comes with the ipod, to sync it, but it generally just hung down from my usb connecter onto the floor (my computer is low down). I accidently stepped on it and somehow managed to break one of the connecters off which stopped it working. i was now unable to sync or charge my ipod so i went back to where i bought my ipod from in search of a new ...
