=== My Final Opinion ===
In my honest opinion , I would have to say that this iPod i have is one of the best things I have. I haven't had it for too long , but when i did buy it I was so surprised at the range of features that are held on the iPod Classic 160 GB , it's just so amazing how much data can fit ... more
iPod Classic 160 GB
iPods , the most amazing gadgets of all time. Who would have ever beleived that such a small mod con could hold so much memory and so much to explore. The family of iPod'swhich include the smaller yet impressive iPod Shuffle which runs on flash memory , the even more interesting iPod Nano which includes a video screen which holds 8 GB memory models , and it this just gets better because the next iPod in the family is the absolutely amazing iPod Classic which can even hols up to an impressive 160 GB of memory which is just unbelievable for an almost palm sized mp3 player, you just have to agree these are just so amazing. I bought my iPod from my cousin for a very good price of £150.00 , considering they are around £250 if you purchase them in a shop or online...
The penultimate iPod in the family of these wonderful media players is the iPod Touch , where you can touch the screen to operate your iPod and select any of the great features which even includes safari web browser...
The last iPod in the family is the iPhone. The iPhone is a mobile phone which features many of the great features that the iPod Touch does. The iPhone is extremely impressive and it is one of the top mobile phones of today , that is why it is so expensive!!!...
Although you have the iPhone and the iPod Touch , but the iPod classic is just the most impressive in my opinion and the iPod Classic 160 GB holds the most memory out of all of the 5 peice family. I feel that the iPod Classic is the best iPod of the group , maybe you should to!!!...
Now that you a little bit about all of the iPods in the iPod family , you may now be asking about what the iPod Classic is all about. Well I will tell you this before you read through , You will NOT be dissapointed with ANY of the features on the iPod Classic so nothing should take you away from buying one of these amazing portable media players , exept the price!!!...
Features
Scroll/ Click Wheel
The first feature on the iPod Classic 160 GB is the scroll wheel. The scroll wheel is a feature which allows you to scroll through each menu on the iPod. All you need to do to select any feature is turn your finger around on the scroll wheel without any effort at all. The scroll wheel is also very easy to use , and it also features the play and pause button , the fast forward and rewind buttons and the menu button , which takes you back to each menu that you just came through. When you want to select something to do on your iPod , you just click down the circular button inside the circular scroll wheel to pick what you want to do...
Model
The second features on the iPod Classic is the model itself. Before now , the iPod Classics have been wider and chunkier in their models , but now the 160 GB model is slimmer but it holds even more memory which is just so unbelievably impressive. When you are buying your iPod Classic , you can choose between a silver shade , or a black shade. The features are still all the same , but you may just want a different colour than your friends or family if they have all black or all silver, and these iPod Classic models have such a smooth surface feel to them, which is different to the hard cold surface of the 5th generation iPod Video/Classic...
Memory Capacity
The next feature is the amount of memory that you can hold on your iPod Classic. This iPod holds the most memory from the whole family. You can store up to an amazing 40,000 mp3 tracks on your iPod Classic. The amount of songs seems heck of a lot , but if you are a really big fan of music then you may need this 160 GB model!!!...
Music
As i have already mentioned, you can store up to an amazing 40,000 songs from synchronising your tracks from iTunes or by inporting a CD's tracks into iTunes to add even more songs to your Ipod Classic music collection. Some of us may use up all 160 GB if you love music like I do , or if you only have a certain amount under the 160 GB capacity , then you will have plenty of space left o your iPod for any of the other features on the iPod Classic...
You may be thinking that you need to hustle and bustle through each song to get to a certain track on your iPod , but you don't just have a song menu , you have plenty of other song choices to choose from such as the Artists list , where you can choose s song by any artist on your iPod.
The Albums list , where you can pick a track to play by selecting it from where the album was downloaded or imported to your iPod , which can be very handy to choose different versions of the song you want if you have different remixes.
Genres , this means that whatever type of music you have on your iPod , it is listen and you can choose this in the music menu like you do to each of the other music listings , and this genre menu means that you can choose the type of music on your iPod , whether it be Classical to Jazz , Rock to Pop , you can track down the types of songs you have on your iPod Classic right here in this menu!!!...
Composers. The composer menu means that you can choose songs that have been published by a certain composer of a song. Sometimes a song may not have a composer wrriten into the " Info " section on a track on iTunes , but if you know the composer from it's CD cover then you can easily add it , and you will be able to find the composer on your iPod , making it even more easier to find!!!...
You also have four other listings on the " Music " menu of your iPod. These are " Playlists " , " Audiobooks " , "Podcasts" , and " Genius"...
A playlist on your iPod means that you can choose any song to be added to a list that you choose to play instead of you having to keep changing a song all of the time. All you need to do to add a song to your playlist is hold down the middle button of your click wheel and wait until the highlighted song is flashing then you can start listening to your playlist when you have some more tracks on it...
An audiobook is a featues which is very interesting because you can purchase a book such as one of the Harry Potter books from iTunes for a fairly high price. The Audiobook is read out to you by a voice which gives you word to word of the book you have downloaded , and you can listen to it whever or wherever you are , and when you leave your Audiobook to come back later , it is automatically bookmarked so you can go back to wherever you left off!!!...
The Genius feature means that you can listen to a song that you really take a liking to if you haven't already , or if it your favourite track , then all you need to do is go to the genius screen and click to make a playlist of similar songs , and the genius feature makes a playlist from your song library which you can save or delete whenever you like. Who knows , you may even find an old track you forgot you had?...
Another new addition to the iPod Classics range of features is the Cover Flow feature. This is a small feature which allows you to scroll through all of your favourite album artwork from all of your favourite tracks. This feature isn't the greatest , but it's a new feature which i find quite fun to use and flick through my tracks artwork images!!!...
The last but definitly not least listing is the Podcast menu. A podcast is like an intervewi with a celebrity or an update of the news , or it can even be about a TV show. You can download a podcast from the iTunes store for absolutley free , and then you just need to sync them to your iPod Classic. I find these podcasts a little useless and a bit of a waste of time but you may find a useful podcast on iTunes , you just need to try it out!!!...
Photo : Memory
You can also store up to 35,000 photos. All you need to do is upload your favourite images onto your iPod by using the USB cable the iPod Classic is equip with , and you synchronise your favourite photoshop images to your iPod from iTunes. You can even create iPod Photo Slideshows to show off your best photos in a list of your choice...
Video
How much more amazing do iPods get? This iPod Classic lets you buy films or TV Shows from the iTunes store so you can watch them on your 2.5 inch iPod Classic screen with a great picture qaulity. The films cost around £6.00 to a higher price range , where as a TV Episode costs only £1.89. You can even rent a film from iTunes which lasts for a certain amount of time. You can store many videos on your iPod which lasts upto 7 hours of video battery time on your iPod , so your bound not to get bored with this amazing gadget!!!...
Extras : Games
You also have a wide range of extras featured on your iPod Classic. Some of these extras are the likes of the " Contacts " list , where you can add your windows contacts from your computer and iTunes and keep them saved in your iPods memory. You have a built in date and time feature where you can change the cock wherever you are and you can also change the date. This comes in handy if its October or March , or maybe even if your in a different country with your iPod Classic. You also have a calender built in which lets you put in things TO DO from iTunes and it also tells you what day and what week and of what month you are in , cute. You also have a stopwatch featured on your iPod Classic which may come in useful. So yeah , you have a nice little range of features on your iPod...
But that's not it, you also have some games already featured on your iPod!!!...
Games
When you buy your iPod , you already have three great games already stored ready for you to have fun with. These games are the iQuiz , Klondike and Vortex. These games are quite entertaining , well to me and maybe to you , but if you find that you get bored of them , then you may want to download a new games from iTunes , where i have recently purchased a classic Sonic The Hedge Hog Game for only £3.99!!!...
So there you go. I bet your mouth is still open with amazment at all of the features on the iPod Classic. Well i was very shocked and plased when i first got hold of my iPod Classic....
Battery Life
As we all know that we need to run iPod's on the battery life given to them through the USB from our computers. Well , the iPod Classic can last upto 7 hours of video life , and you can even play up tp 40 hours of audio life with your music. When you run out of battery charge/life , you can easily re -charge the battery life by plugging your iPod Classic into the USb Cable and it's socket , leave it for a while and you'll be fully charged!!!...
Price And Package
I bought my Black iPod Classic 160 GB from my cousin for a very good price £200. Well he paid around £230 from argos so i thought a the price for second hand iPod Classic. So the retail price for this 160 GB model is around £225 - £230. Some may think it's quite expensive , well it is , but when you get the ammusements of a lifetime all featured on one tiny little hard drive , you know you have to just save up and buy one!!!...
I'm not entirly sure of what the packaging looked like originally as i bought my iPod Classic second hand , but my cousin did tell me that it came in a box which contained the white USB Cable to allow you to put your favourite songs and videos on your iPod , without it your iPod would be useless if you don't have a USB Cable , but you get one with your purchase. You also get a pair of white or black earphones which allows you to plug them in to your iPod and bring out that amazing sound qaulity through the wires or the earphones. You also get many little help booklets to do with iTunes and the model itself , which may come in handy sometime if you are stuck...
So overall , the price for a 160 GB iPod Classic is great , and you get what you need in the package your iPod comes with.
Weight and Size
This iPod Classic model weighs 140 grams. So it doesn't really weigh much , but the older generation iPod Classics weigh a lot more because of the thicker and chunkier model we used to have. The Height of the iPod Classic is 10.4 inches tall , and the iPod Classic is 6.18 inches wide , so it's ot all that big , but it is still so impressive!!!...
Extra Equiptment For Your iPod Classic
You don't just have these few bits of equipment to go with your iPod , oh no , you have many others such as the apple iPod docks which allow you to play your music out loud by using your iPod earphones jack , protective cases allow you to keep your iPod safe from spillages or stains. You can even by a Apple Protection Plan for your iPod Classic , so if it get's destroyed or damaged , you can claim from it. You can purchase all of these extras from shops such as argos or HMV. Or you can even buy them online , along with many other helpful products to go with your iPod Classic. If you know someone close to you with an iPod Classic , then these ca be great gifts for christmas or birthdays!!!...
My Final Opinion

I haven't had it for too long , but when i did buy it I was so surprised at the range of features that are held on the iPod Classic 160 GB , it's just so amazing how much data can fit on to this small machine i suppose you can call it...
I also think that this is the best iPod from the iPod Family and it's easy to see why as this iPod Classic holds the most memory and the most exitment and adventure!!!!...
Why Should You Buy This Product
You should really try and get your hands on one of these to show of to your friends or family because i'm sure everyone would love to have one of these and you can easily see why with such a great range of features , and you are bound to be anticipated to get your hands on one of these because of the joy it holds!!!...
So get out and buy one of these from shops such as Argos , HMV , From catalogues such as the TESCO or Next Catalogues , or even online for a fairly good price!!!...
There is just one word to sum up the iPod Classic Black 160 GB , and that word is AMAZING!!!...
Advantages: An excellent MP3 player with a huge hard drive. Disadvantages: So much space available you may not know exactly what to do with it all.
...to ZZ Top; the 160GB Apple iPod can hold it all and there is still plenty of space left over for my ever expanding music collection. Having so far taken up 100GB I think I'm doing quite well at filling it so far, but there's still plenty more that can be stored and I doubt I'll be stretching my player to its full capacity for a long while yet. 100GB is the total amount of music I have amassed during the last 5 or so years, and to tell the truth a ... ...mixture of the two; this Apple is black and a slim, sleek, and totally stylish piece of machinery. The front is given a matt finish and the back a glorious metallic sheen. All black in appearance; I can have no complaints whatsoever with my aesthetically excellent electronic dream. I had originally been looking to buy myself a white iPod, however with the 160GB sixth generation iPod from Apple this is no longer something that is possible. White has ...

Advantages: Vast capacity, feels well made, incredibly simple to use Disadvantages: A bit on the chunky side
This is my second iPod purchase in 3 years. I previously had the 30GB video black. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it, but I needed something to better accommodate my rapidly expanding music collection.
Ipods are achingly, horribly trendy. Stick a lower case "i" in front of anything and it immediately becomes cool. Seriously, keep your eyes peeled for an iPope. Over the years the iPod has changed in size and shape, and it's learnt more and ... ...one key selling point - simplicity. Personally, I can live with the burden of owning something fashionable if it makes my days go by that little bit easier. So anyway, I'll do a bit-by-bit review and we can see what's what.
PRICE
I paid £230 in Curry's for this, which I think is exceptionally good value. It may not be as small as its siblings, but for those who have an HMV store's worth of music on their PC and just want something to listen to ...

Advantages: Amazing amount of material that can be carried around in one place, reliable Disadvantages: Desirable to thieves! Wheel can be a bit fiddly initially
...A cursory glance at the apple website showed me that that the 160Gb classic iPod was cheaper than the amount I paid 13 months ago for my 80Gb, so I now have the newer version.
==== THE BASIC APPEAL OF AN IPOD ====
For those who have not yet succumbed to the charms of an iPod, this is a small device that allows a vast amount of audio files to be stored and played. The real genius of the iPod for me lies in the way it compresses the audio files so ... ...free of charge from the Apple website. The software also has a short cut to the iTunes store, from which you can buy individual songs to download, as well as whole albums. I also use this to subscribe to podcasts where I get a number of weekly radio programmes that I'm interested in. The software allows you to draw up your own playlists, which saves you from having to search for individual tracks that you regularly listen to from different albums.

...be better than the supplied Apple earphones. Thirdly, to charge the iPod up you use the supplied USB cable (which also serves to connect the iPod into the PC when transferring music) but your PC has got to remain switched on during the charging process, which sometimes isn't convenient, so I would recommend purchasing the USB power adapter which sells for around £19, with this you can charge the iPod up using a mains electric socket. Personally though ... ...power adapter.
The software that is supplied with the iPod is Itunes (which has always been the case with the iPod's) this software is used to import songs from CD and then on to the iPod, when you are importing songs from the CD, (providing you have an internet connection) iTunes will detect what the name of the CD is and also show all the track listings, so basically when you import the songs over on to the iPod, all the tracks then have names. ...

Advantages: This doesn't have room, this has aircraft hangars. Great iPod Disadvantages: Few small problems, nothing major though
Why would you want to have so much memory inside your MP3 player you might ask, well, why not? Before I purchased the 160GB iPod Classic, I owned a 256mb Goodmans MP3 player, which only held 30-40 songs. I then was given a 2GB iPod Nano for my birthday and I thought that 2GB was a lot considering I didn't really have much music on my computer at the time. But as I started downloading music and buying more CD's, I started to acquire a lot of tracks ... ...so much, it was quite a task trying to sift out 2GB of music worthy enough to go onto my iPod. Then I started downloading U2 bootlegs at 100MB (approx.) a show and this was the final straw, I was in need of a bigger capacity MP3 player.
So, after much thought and the release of the new iPod Classics at the time I decided upon the Classic. The next question was 80GB or 160GB? Well at the time, I had 40GB of music and about 20GB of videos, so an 80GB ...

& 6cm wide. So when you pick it up with your
hand it fits firmly in your palm and allows your fingers to grip comfortable around the sides.
On the downside its very clumpy in its shape and when in loose pockets it will swing, and in tight pockets it may feel comfortable.
Though the actual weight of the product is almost slight.
Apple have made good use of the space given and the
actual specs say the weight is 0.14kg. I am surprised
it is this much, weight is just fine, its the shape and size
that makes this iPod difficult to enjoy when the music is off.
