I can't give a bad review on the latest introduction to Apples 'nano family' simply due to to the amazing innovation that comes complete with this nifty little machine. Apple are famous for there innovation and every year they seem to bring out pretty much perfect products. The 6th Generation iPod Nano is no different, the fact that such a high quality TFT display is so small and vibrant is an amazing fact on it's own, at first I thought I was not going to enjoy using such a small interface however it works a treat.
sadly (and it kills me to point out the negatives on a wonderful gadget) the Nano does lack 1 little issue I felt somewhat was a downer and that is as you can't buy/download any applications, meaning you are stuck with the basic applications such as the Radio, Photos, Fitness and a few others - which don't get me wrong are still all great applications, it is just that the option to have a few other applications available (merely since the scale the App Store has risen in the past couple of years, it seems a real shame to not let the Nano make use of the App Store) would have made a nice addition.
Leaving the Disadvantage behind the 6th Generation iPod Nano is full of fantastic features and design elements. The main design element with which I love is the Nano size making it an essential item for gym goers like myself, the fact that I don't have to worry about finding a pocket to hold my iPod touch in is fantastic, with the unnoticeable clip at the rear of the Nano you can exersize without fear that it will fall and damage, the fact there are only 3 buttons on the device (Volume up, Volume Down and the Navigation button which is your basic sleep/wake, shuffle song, play/pause button all in one, making for an extremely easy experience. From personal experience I seem to very rarely charge the Nano, Apple claim its rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to 24 hours but I can say on occasion it can last longer.
Price wise.. well you get what you pay for and if your a regular gym goer or enjoy fitness in general and want to listen to your music without having a brick taped to your arm then this ultra light device will be money well spent.. even if your not interested in using it to listen to music during exersize it's still a great gadget if you find yourself on the move frequently and need something light to listen to your music with. As for sound?.. again typical to all Apples iPod range the sound is crisp and clear.
Fantastic addition to the ever growing Nano Family.
