Leaving me with a different track or album than I originally planned to listen to. The noise that comes with the click wheel when you initially receive the iPod is incredibly annoying, but after a delve into the online handbook - as there isn't one included in the packaging - I figured out how to switch it off.

It arrived 3 working days later in a cute little case, and I'm still using it today!

The colour is very striking when first taken out of the packaging, although after a few months it does begin to fade slightly, out of a case. Although even after 16 months it is a much more attractive colour than the other second generation iPod's.

~The Menu~
On the opening screen there are a few different options, to choose from. Music extras photos and shuffle of all the music on you iPod. Music; all the music is alphabetically categorised and in sections of albums, tracks, artists and play lists, of which you can create your own and it also features the top 25 tracks played on the iPod itself. Photos; this iPod has the capability to photos and has options view them in slideshows and accompanied by music. The amount of photos that you include can compromise the amount of music you can upload, but the photo quality on the LCD screen is very crisp and is worth the small loss of music! It perhaps doesn't have a big screen, like the video iPod or the new iPod touch but for the price compared to the cheaper alternative it is more than sufficient. Extras; contains controls for equalisers and similar sound controls. Including a nifty control that adjusts the maximum sound level on your music! Although if the bass is on to high in the iPod, don't plug it in your car - it sounds incredibly fuzzy so ruining the quality of the music!
The earphone included when the iPod is delivered lasted me about 4 months, but that is through considerable use! The battery life is as it says on the box 24 hours if you don't listen to the shuffle mix of your music, as that drains the battery very quickly..! The usability of this mp3 player is easy, not a difficult gadget to sue as most things are self explanatory…!
I would strongly recommend this iPod despite it only being second generation as I have had practically no problems and even the ones I hv had have been easily solved by plugging the iPod in the computer and resetting the factory settings that takes less than 10 minutes! Although charging through the computer does give a longer battery life than charging through a iPod docking system.
Apple has a hit and miss reputation but defiantly give them a try you will not be disappointed!
Advantages: Slim, easy to use menu, tiny, long battery life Disadvantages: You can buy bigger capacity mp3 players for less, no mains power supply
...Itunes is free from the apple website (www.apple.com), which is good in my opinion as it isn't as good a media player as windows media player. I had to leave my computer for a day converting all my ripped CD files into a special file that Itunes used, a complete waste of time. I'm more of a CD guy then paying to download but you will need to download them off itunes if you want to use them on your ipod.
The menu is so easy to use with the scroll ... ...your songs, artist and albums. Just put your finger on the wheel and move it round with the lightest touch. Other features such as play, pause, stop and skip can be found on the wheel by clicking in the respective places. There is also a button in the middle which can be used to advance through the different levels of the menu. There is also a fully customizable equalizer (EQ) which means you can set it to the music type you prefer and the Ipod will ...

Advantages: Small, compact, colourful, great quality, Easy2Use, bright, good memory. Disadvantages: Earphones Can be broken easily, ipod needs to be looked after well.

The Apple Ipod Nano is now becoming personal. Yeah, it was designed and created for music! But Photos can be saved onto your ipod too! A variety of extras are placed onto the ipod Nano too;
A timer, which is good for running, i practically use it every day.
4 Games, which can be played with the music
World Clock, know what the time is anywhere in the world
Screen Lock, contacts, and a calendar is also available.
As everythign ... ...are easily avoided with an Apple iSock, or a silicone case.
And the Second Problem is the earphones. Yeah, they are amazing, but they can break easily if not cared for in the right way.
** PLEASE READ THIS: **
If one of your earphones click when ever there is a BASS beat, do NOT flick it, all though this stops the clicking, it can break your earphone, blow into it, this will probable sort out the loose connection.
Another tip is buy the ipod ...

Advantages: Very small and light-weight. Very long battery life. Disadvantages: Headphones plug into the bottom, which can make it awkward to hold.
The main reasons why I bought the Ipod Nano is because of its capacity, its size, its ability to store photos, and its long (24 hour) battery life. I have actually left it on to test this and it does last a full 24 hours if you switch the backlight off and keep the volume low. It has a 3cm by 2.5cm screen which is extremely good quality. This also means you can store brilliant quality photos on it. The sound quality is excellent.
The actual Ipod ... ...thick! The problem I find with this though is that with it being so small it can be quite weird to hold but you get used to it. The other problem I found with the design is where the headphones plug in- in the bottom. This might not seem like too big a problem but depending on how you hold the thing it can be difficult if you have your finger on the bottom to support it because the headphones get in the way. However, these flaws still aren't enough ...

...surfaces and bad battery life, Apple went away and redesigned the entire concept.
Result? A slimmer, much improved MP3 player with a vastly improved battery life that will ensure that the IPOD Nano storms the portable player market.
There is a lot of competition around......Sony. Phillips and Microsoft and snapping at the heels of Apple......so far they have all failed to come up with something to challenge the position that Apple have.
