I remember when the I pods were first released and I was in school at the time and I remember people getting them for their birthday and Christmas and I always had an mp3 player because it was more in budget than a I pod. I was really jealous but was glad that they was banned in school, not like that stopped people from bringing them. I remember going to pick one of these bad boys up with my dad when I was about 15 years old, my parents had gone on holiday without us kids for the first time and they bought us each a little something for being good and mine was this little beauty. I have two of these Ipod shuffles in the past one a metallic mint green and the other a deep blue, this came in a lot of other colours such as red, pink, green, blue, black, silver. I was never particularly bothered like some people, just as long as I had one I was fine, so my first Ipod was just a random colour and the second I got from my Brother because I lost my original one.
For anyone whose never owned one of these before, it is approximately 1 and a half" long and half an inch wide, so keep in mind this is easily miss placed if not attached to the earphones. This is really lightweight like most Ipod's, you would hardly know you was holding it by the weight of it. The buttons are really simplistic and straight forward for easy use, like the picture you can see above the main buttons are set in a circle, this is rewind, fast forward, the volume control, and you wouldn't know it's a button, but in the middle is play even though it doesn't have a symbol on it, near the hole to the earphones on the other end, is a small led light, this flashes a green-y yellow when playing, a constant colour when paused and will flash red when the battery is low, this is very useful because it doesn't have a screen like the others you need some way of knowing when to charge this up, on the bottom of the Ipod, it has two switches, one being the on and off button, and one being the shuffle button, this has two settings, 1) to play music in order 2)to shuffle the music so it is randomized. This is good, if you want to listen to a certain band only then you can have the number one setting, or if you really don't mind then just stick it on shuffle. With this, on the back on the Ipod, there is a clip the full length of the Ipod, this is to clip onto yourself or your clothing etc, and of course like every Ipod comes an amazing pair of Apple earphones.
This only £34.99 in store and online it's not a bad price for a 2G memory, even though that isn't a lot, you can buy a second generation Ipod with 2G memory for £100, when you can buy a shuffle with the same memory for a third of the price, This is my opinion is very good value for money as I've just compared prices, and also to me seems like this is more suited to people who go to the gym, walk a lot or go running, this is because it is very lightweight and it had a clip, I can imagine how difficult it would be on a treadmill or a bike having to hold an Ipod or other music player, with this you can just clip it to you where ever you want leaving both your hands free to do what ever, also very suited for children more than the newer more expensive Ipod s because they lose things all the time like I lost mine.
With any and every Ipod, to access and put music on you can only do this through Itunes on your computer or laptop, It is free to download from the Itunes website and only takes a few minutes, for anyone who doesn't know, this is a music player to store your music and access your Ipod online, you can buy music on Itunes or add music fro y our cds or downloads, you simply connect your Ipod using the usb leads provided, click on 'My Ipod' and press the option Autofill, this will automatically fill your Ipod with the music on you music player.
I would 100% recommend this product to anyone, young or old it is very straight forward to use, I have never had any problems with this and the battery life is very long lasting even when put at full blast all the time, There are newer shaped Ipod shuffles that are even smaller, I found them to be quite fiddly, if you agree this maybe the Ipod for you instead.
