The ipod touch is a great device, but it could be so much greater. The software and features are great as is the amount of memory. But apple could have done a lot better. Take for instance with older ipods you could use your ipod as external storage from your computer but this feature has been taken out of the touch for no apparent reason. The touch also has no volume buttons like the iphone which could come in handy.
However the screen is great for viewing videos, the sound quality is great as is the general music experience. Coverflow really adds to this and you can see the jump in technology when compared to older ipods.
Yet apple have not used the device to its full potential. However to maximize the features of this device you can "jailbreak" and install a wide range of apps and customizations. This gap may be filled by the yet to be released SDK (software development kit) if apple lets developers offer their applications for free.
The ipod touch is a great device and for music, videos and photos it is brilliant, but it could be capable of much much more.
