The first thing you'll notice when you receive your iPod Touch is how unbelieveably thin it is. How on earth Apple managed to pack everything in it is way beyond me. The first decent thing therefore is the packaging - nothing is wasted. The box is incredibly small so won't clutter anything.

Now onto the main review. The Apple iPod Touch is one amazing music player. Unfortunately it still does not support OGG-Vorbis, but of course AAC makes up for this so you can still retain great quality sound with lower bitrates. The iPod Touch doesn't have the best sound around, but to say it's a fault would be being very picky indeed.

Now onto the visuals. Absolutely superb. Even just looking at album art - you'll be astounded as to quality. But if you think that's great, the video player is even better. Supporting videos of 640x480 using the MPEG-4AVC codec, the quality is simply breath-taking.

But that is what you expect from Apple, right? Well the iPod Touch features an awful lot more. Inbuilt 802.11g WiFi is probably the biggest thing about the iPod Touch, enabling you to browse the FULL web - no more squashed screens. Simply use your fingers to zoom in and move it about seamlessly. Whilst a flash plugin for this mobile safari may not be present as yet, there are workarounds to view flash content online. However, there is a seperate YouTube application, giving you access to all of youtube's collection without the need to use safari!

Whilst the legal purposes of the iPod Touch are fantastic, the not-so-legal aspects are even better. "Jailbreaking" your iPod further increases functionality and basically allows you to do anything you want to it, letting you play games, customise the look, etc. etc.

The list is endless. But if you don't wanna spend hundreds on an iPhone, buy this! You can basically do everything you can on the iPhone on it apart from take pictures!
