Every step you have to go through is explained as you move through the installation. ...re-write like this is that Microsoft have to try and meet the needs of a very wide range of people with very different skill sets, it is often said that over 90% of the users use less than 10% of the packages facilities. What this means is that striking a balance is never an easy task and I think in this case Microsoft have gone more towards the light or inexperienced user.
