When the Parson declares rather carelessly 'Anyone who murdered Colonel Prothero would be doing the world at large a service!', he does not realise his words will come back to haunt him. From several potential murderers, Miss Marple must find the real killer.
...AgathaChristie's murder on the orient express still remanes one of the best and most famous murder stories of the modern era.
the story is one of a murder on a train (the oriant express).
the murder is expertly solved by master detective Hercule Potoit..Christies most famous detective.
without giving to much away i'll say the Potoit solves the murder by saying and exposing that every one on the train had something to do with the death.
this is defenatly one of these books that once you start you won't be able to put down.....read it if you get the chance....

Advantages: The best Crime Writer ever to have lived. Disadvantages: There are no disadvantages
...This is one of the best that AgathaChristie has written. While reading this, I thought that the murderer was one of several people and as I read it, my theory kept changing. Everyone had a grudge about someone else, they could all have done it. It wasn't until I got to the end of the book that I realised who it was. Whenever AgathaChristie writes a book, she makes you think that you know who it is but it is only a red herring. You have to wait until the end. Once you've started reading this book, then you can't put it down, it's full of intrugue and suspense. The film version of this book is just as good but it has to be played by Peter Ustinov....

Advantages: A Classic Agatha Christie book Disadvantages: Hard to get into because of the language used
...I have not read many AgathaChristie books but I could clearly recognise the classic Christie style in this book. Although it's an old cliché, it did have me guessing right up until the end, something I usually don't find in a book!
For me, this was a quick read, only two late evenings reading in bed, but then again, I found it incredibly hard to put down, and the language was easy to read. However, what I found to be strange was the use of 1930's/1940's language in a 2000BC book. Perhaps this is just my opinion, but usually I think of characters in history speaking in more of a modern day language, as that is how it's easier to relate to them, but in this book, for me, there are two clashing eras. However, Agatha does use several Egyptian words in her character's dialogue, explained at the beginning of the book, to help take you back...
