real head turner
Advantages: fast, very attractive Disadvantages: electrical problems
...- Buying brand new real Aprilia parts can be a problem. If your bike isnt running your pretty much screwed. It takes about 2 weeks for parts to come as their from Italy.
- Im on my 3rd battery - after a few months they'll stop charging themselves and you'll find yourself buying a new one.
Overall, the RS50's a great little bike for a 16 year old. Very nippy with great handing, however just make sure your parents will pay for the replacement parts ...

dont believe the stereotypes
Advantages: great speed, handling and driver friendly Disadvantages: oil consumption. part prices and import delays.
...of a mint condition 2006 aprilia rs125. coming from a bike-riding family i grew up with certain stereotypes, some more fact-based than others i.e chinese bikes ARE unreliable in the vast majority and so on so forth. one stereotype bugs teenagers all around the globe, and that is , that the aprilia rs50 and rs125 respectively are unreliable and prone to going boom boom bang.
let me tell you this is simply not the case, the reason so many dealers, riders, ... ...from cold. always start an aprilia from cold with the choke on , and gently let it off as the engine warms , do not under any circumstance unless your being shot at , smack it into first and rev the tits off it whilst the digital dash is reading anything under 45, in fact dont do it at all. let the bike gradually climb in temperature and wait for it to do so whilst puttin your gear on and checkin evrythings in order. once its up to around 50 then ...

Aprilia MOJITO Custom review.
Advantages: Convincing retro styling, 'big scooter' feel Disadvantages: Almost completely made of plastic, low quality, Italian electrics, underpowered.
The Aprilia Mojito Custom 50 (Formerly Habana) is one of the most convincingly classically styled scooters out there; it is physically large compared to other 50's, with wide 'chrome' handlebars, large comfy seat and big bodywork. Aesthetically, this scooter is flawless, bags of 'chrome' and sweeping 50's/60's curves which turn heads wherever you go. As I mentioned, the wide bars and comfy seat offer a very different and more comfortabe riding position ... ...When you sit on this scooter you feel like you're at the helm of something much larger; although still low to the ground and manageably light, this scooter does make other attempts at classically styled scoots look unimpressive. You might be wondering why I'm using the term 'chrome', well, thats because upon further inspection, all of the chrome trimmings including the massive handlebars, side reflectors and rear light assembly are in fact a chrome ...

Aprilia RS250
Advantages: Fun,fun, fun Disadvantages: expensive to run/maintain
Have been riding my 2002 model for 18 months, yes you have to be handy with a spanner, yes it is no good for speed runs with your 1000cc driving mates and yes it is very expensive to run (£17 a litre for fully synthetic oil) and parts are not easy to come by but show it twisty back roads and within minutes you are a race god, kneedown with a flick of the bars, stuffing your now struggling mates on every bend and embarassing the weekend born agains ... ...as some spotty youth who thinks he is the first person to ride a bike fast then i'll let you into a secret, i'm the wrong side of 40 and have ridden all sizes of pocket rockets. The RS was bought as a fun tool for weekend scratching but has become my main form of getting from A to B, there is always the chance of a bit of back road racing and this is the bike that makes you go looking for it.
People will tell you that it will die on you every time ...
