The first day I saw it I fell in love - its looks amazing in Dragon Red with 2 white stripes going all the way across it! The purchase price was £2065, which broke down as £2000 purchase price, including registration fees and the £15 years road tax, and £65 for my CBT.
The first day I saw it out of the showroom was the day I did my CBT. It rides extremely ... ...Its is a very capable bike, and as it is a "twist and go" type bike you don't have to learn how to change gear etc. The only thing it can't do it a U turn in the space allowed on my CBT - after 3 failed attempts of my running wide, my examiner tried it on my bike and he couldn't do it either. Then again, when in real life do you need to do a U turn?

The first day I saw it out of the showroom was the day I did my CBT. It rides extremely well, and even my examiner wanted to have a ride! Its is a very capable bike, and as it is a "twist and go" type bike you don't have to learn how to change gear etc. The only thing it can't do it a U turn in the space allowed on my CBT - after 3 failed attempts of my running wide, my examiner tried it on my bike and he couldn't do it either. Then again, when in real life do you need to do a U turn?
As I'm 16 the bike is still restricted to 30 mph. With the restriction removed, I have heard that standard it does around 45-50mph, and up to 70-80mph if you add some performance upgrades.
I rode the bike trouble free for 6 months, until at the end of Januray on a sunny day I went out for a ride. I will warn you to look out for diesel on corners, especially when you have cold wet tyres. The bike slid from beneath me, but I was just bruised. The repair bill came back at £413, which may sound expensive but was very reasonable for the amount of damage I'd done.
If you buy the bike new, make sure that you opt for an extended warranty - you can get a full 3 year warranty for only £30! Its well worth it - i've already had about £200 worth of warranty work done in the first 4 months.
Its very reliable - start first time, every time. Petrol consumption is fantastic - I get around 40-50mpg.
If you are lookin for a fun first bike, I can't reccommend this bike enough. It always gets looks, and I have even had someone shout out my numberplate and then "nice bike mate!" when I was in traffic with a normal scooter in front and behind me!
The only major bad point is that if you buy new, its going to cost you around £2000, and they easily lose £800-£1000 in depreciation in the first year. Insurance however is really good - just £400 for me at 16 with no road experience before! Its also one of the fastest accelerating scooters you can get - easily pulls away from every other scooter I've met until you hit the 30mph restrictor!
Advantages: Speed, Reliability, Appearance, Value Disadvantages: Small Petrol Tank,

Once On The Road.....
The bike Struck up 1st time on both the electric start and the kick start. I decided ... ...roads and then onto a main road. The ride was perfect. Never have i felt such smooth performance even on Gravelly Surfaces. Going in and out of corners was also a joy. The bike is only small but handled my weight along with the bikes lean very easily, showing no signs of slowing down. The bike is VERY easy to ride, Perfect for a first time biker. There are no manual gears, The bike is built on the same principal as a Scooter/Ped - "Twist n Go" . ...

Advantages: fast acceleration, great handling Disadvantages: gussles oil a bit
i've had this gilera dna for just over a year and its been the best of my life. i love this bike!!!!!
i've just bought dunlop front and back tyres for this and jesus, it sticks to the road. i always manage to get my knee down at high speeds.
the accelaration is superb, beating of most peds. beware though it slows down a bit when de-resticted. the top end speed is restricted to 25-30 mph which in my mind is dangerously slow. i de-restricted mine ... ...mod my bike.
i got an after-market exhaust, gear up kit, variator kit, unrestricted my rpm clock and much more. it now reaches speed of 75mph +
the bike looks fantasic. like a superbike but with no gears and a 50cc engine.
recently i came of it sliping on some deisel or oil and the road. and at speeds of about 40mph there was no f@!k all damage really. all i needed was a new indicator (£15) and a new wing mirror (£20-25). there was a few sratches ...

this is great lil bike and has great potentional .i bought mine bout 3 months ago now and never had a bad thing to say about it . it sticks to the road and erges you to push it to the limit.mine does between 45 and 50 mph which for a 50cc is very impressive .i also liek how it is easily ridden for beginners for it has helped me thro my fear of drivin .even tho i have had a few falls(3) the bike is still in perfect condition .one one problem i find ... ...ur front yard that it might be tricky to start but with a few kicks of the kick start it will be good ta go for ever with quick accelertation and great handling its perfect for beginers like my self .also the bike has got a small battery but this is grand if your journies are long enough for it takes very little to get it going .wit little to go wrong wit this lovly well buit bike i must say its the love of me like giving freedom to the average 16 ...
