My fish had a smaller tank than this to begin with but Crispin just kept growing and growing and he probably still is today! Soon I will need a pond if he carries on! I bought my tank on a bit of a whim when we were in our local independent aquatics centre, I believe it was on sale for something like £54.99 but this was a complete set up so I thought that actually the price was really reasonable. In the shop you had the choice of black, silver or pink. Guess which one I went for?! Of course I went for the pink as the fish lived in my bedroom and my bedroom was a pink paradise. However, now I ... more

Advantages Advantages Attractive, easy to set up, quiet, great for beginners

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a fantasic filter

The Aqua One AquaStart 320 tank is a 30 litre tank that would be perfect for a beginners aquarium. We purchased this tank from a local pet store for £39.99 but im sure prices vary elsewhere. We bought this when our much more expensice tank decided to break on us (how a crack appeared in the bottom when it had never been moved is beyond me) and we needed to get a new one as quickly as possible at a low price. The tank is square in shape with a curved front - which is very attractive - and although ours is black i believe it comes in white too, although im not sure. This is perfect for a ... more

Advantages Advantages Comes with everything you need to get started

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

The Aqua Start 320 is a 30 litre tank which can be used for both cold water and tropical fish. It comes complete with an undergravel filter, pump and built in light within the lid. All this for £45-£50. Additional equipment would be required to convert this to a tropical aquarium. The tank itself is square with a bow front. It will happily house 2 or 3 goldfish. I have 2 goldfish and 2 danos in mine. I am finding that the Red Comet is starting to outgrow the tank. We have had him for about a year now. I would say that this tank is not suitable for larger fish. The pump is silent so this could ... more

Advantages Advantages a good durable tank for beginners

Disadvantages Disadvantages better filters are available on the market

I bought this aquarium for about £60, which came with a built in LED light and filter. This tank comes in black, white and silver. At 28 litres, this is a decent size for a beginner wanting to keep a few fish. I decided to keep tropical fish, but it could also be used for coldwater fish. As i started filling my tank with the essentials i soon realised that there wasn't much room for the fish. The filter that comes with it is quite large compared to the tanks, and after adding a heater, thermometer and various decorative plants, there isn't much room to spare. The actual tank itself was pretty ... more
