I bought this from the local Home Bargains store back in June, for just 99p which is quite a bit cheaper than other whitening toothpastes available. Not being loyaI to a particular brand of toothpaste, I usually always grab those that are on offer.
- Packaging -
As with most tube toothpastes this comes in a cuboid box, within which is a squeezable tube with a screw top lid, which I prefer to the flip top lids as there is less chance of the toothpaste near the top, drying out if someone doesn't put the lid down properly!
The tube is predominantly silver with Aquafresh and the well-known triple stripe on the front of it.
- What The Manufacturers Say About This Toothpaste -
~ Gives your teeth and tongue a deep clean ~ The micro-active pores get in to hard to reach places ~ Fights bacteria ~ Leaves you with a cool, clean freshness that lasts ~ Keeps your smile naturally white
The red stripe for healthy gums The white stripe for strong white teeth The blue stripe for fresh breath
- My Experience -
Unlike the other Aquafresh toothpastes that I have used this paste does not have a definite striped effect of red, white and blue. It is more of a turquoise colour with some pink in it.
The taste of the paste is very fresh and minty with a cool feel to it when you are brushing your teeth and a lovely light minty flavour to it. It froths quite a lot, a factor that I like. It may be psychological but I think the more froth you get the cleaner your teeth will become! A bonus, as a little does go a long way.
It cleans really well and my teeth and mouth feel totally clean after using it. As for it's whitening properties, I can't see a difference in this. Although my teeth seem to be crumbling and cracking, I don't have yellow teeth and they remain, thus far quite bright so perhaps the whitening properties would be more apparent on slightly darker teeth.
As for all of it's promises about fighting bacteria, I'm sure it helps in some way as surely they wouldn't be able to market it as such!
-Other Aquafresh Toothpastes -
Aquafresh have a host of dental care products; toothbrushes, toothpastes, mouthwashes and kids products.
I have listed some of the toothpastes currently available: Extreme clean Extreme clean intense rush Multi-active Multi-action whitening Mild and minty Fresh and minty Complete care
Aquafresh has a very comprehensive website www.aquafresh.co.uk It gives you a complete outline of the products available as well as the following:
Bright Bites School Programme funded by the Dept of Health. The ideas etc match Science Unit 3A of the National Curriculum for Key Stage 2 Downloadable online learning resources which include toothbrushing charts, information sheets and colouring activities.
All in all I am happy with this toothpaste. So often you hear that you have to pay that little bit extra for quality but this toothpaste proves that it isn't always the case!
