Whats blue and protects your fish?
Advantages: helps to make potentially dangerous water safe Disadvantages: none that i know of
Just one more fishy themed review for the time being, this is another product I whole heartedly recommend that anyone keeping fish should have on hand. As we all know the tap water in the UK is safe for us to drink, but has several chemical additives as well as traces of the metals used in the pipes, among these are chlorine and metal ions, these while harmless to humans and large pets -cats, dogs etc - are not so good for fish in fact can kill them.
... ...for aquaria to stand for a minium of 24 hours sometimes this just isnt practical so what else can you do? There are a number of similar products on the market designed to neutralise the dangerous traces in the water. This one is the one I have in my cupboard of fish keeping spares, it claims to have ingredients which help to protect the gills of your fish, also to protect fish from wounds and scrapes (as can be caused by boisterous behaviour around ...

fighting infection
Advantages: fights infection Disadvantages: none
Fish are not like cats or dogs as pets, by the time you realise your fish has something wrong with him it is usually too late, unfortunately any bacterial infection in your tank will spread very quickly to your other fish but there is a treatment you can use to help with this.
No9 anti internal bacteria is fantastic in fighting bacterial infections in your water such as gill rot, dropsey, ulcers and septicaemia.
The second you notice something ... ...water will help to treat that fish aswell as any others infected but will also controll the spread of infection to healthy fish.
This is realy easy to use as you get a dropper with the bottle when you buy it, all you need to do is work out how much water is in your tank and add 1ml of this solution for every 5 liters of water you have, i buy mine in bottles of 100ml which is enough to treat 500 liters of water and costs me £3,99, it does make your ...

Has your fish lost it's tail or grown a beard
Advantages: Very effective cure if administered early enough Disadvantages: Harmful to humans and non-aquatic pets, not suitable for marine tanks, eroded fins/mouths can be slow to heal
Interpet are one of the leading manufacturers in aquarium products. Established in 1952, they offer excellent quality products and nearly 50 years of experience. Their Aquarium Treatment range offers a number of liquid preparations which are beneficial to fish keepers, and of course more importantly to the fish themselves.
Anti Fungus & Finrot, No. 8 in the Interpet Aquarium Treatment range, is a very useful water treatment for fish enthusiasts ... ...and general pet shops.
Interpet treatments are value for money, but as with any medication should be treated with care. Storage should be in a cool dark place, and away from the reaches of children and pets. Anti Fungus & Finrot is one of the more dangerous liquid treatments in the range and will cause irritation on contact with the eyes so be careful when handling the product. Should it come into contact with your eyes, rinse with plenty of water. ...

great for a tank without a filter!
Advantages: very easy, just pop them in and they do the rest Disadvantages: have to buy more afterwards
i won a fish at the fair and couldnt afford to buy a filter/bubbler,as i had spent all my money on a decent tank and decoration for it.Fish need oxygen in the water naturaly, because although they live under water they still breathe in air through thier gills, without oxegen they could die eventually, and most people wouldn't even know why.
so i needed to find a cheap alternative to a bubbling filter, which constantly produces bubbles underwater, which ... ...to the local garden center in wantage, where they have a pets corner section,i was familiar with thier products and had used them before with my cat.
They sell anything for pets, beds, toys, straw, hay, food, and much more.So i headed for the fish section and i saw some filters, but they were about £15 at the cheapest and then i saw a little box called oxygenating tablets, and i read the back and discovered that they slowly dissolve in the water producing ...

Hagen FLuval 4 - Easy Cleaning - literally!!
Advantages: Extremely easy to set up and get going and keeps the tank clean, healthy and a fun environment Disadvantages: Probably a little more pricier but definately more hardy and reliable in the long run.
The Hagen Fluval family are, in my opinion, the best at keeping your fishtank crystal clean and healthy without all the palava that usually accompanies aquarium mechanics. The product is for larger fishtanks and is quite bulky however, the noise it emits isn't intrusive and the "gush" of water can easily be turned down to a lower speed so that it is merely a bubbling in the tank. It also sits on the horizon of the water and therefore produces a constant ... ...did was to install the Hagen Fluval 4. Although initially you may have to pay out a little more money and the filters themselves are not peanuts it - it is reliable and well worth the money! You wont have to replace these for many, many years and they are so sturdy and basically it is impossible for them to malfunction - if they do appear a little bit grouchy a simple rinse out is all that is needed and it is back to its best again. Virtually indestructable ...
