I saw this game in the shop and thought "i'll give that a go". That was what i did, gave it a go, then took it back to the shop a week later, really dissapointed. The write up on the box was loads better than the game.

aquatics enthusiast. This lovely decorative idea fits in any aquarium. Just mount the root on the glass pane of your aquarium and you can hide filter equipment or a heating rod at the same time. Because of the mobile suction cup mount it's easy to change the position of the root in the aquarium to give your underwater landscape a new look. You choose a country where you would like to start an aquarium. Then you choose from either scenario playing or free play.(scenario playing gives you objectives to complete, free play just lets you play freely) Your job is to decide what size tanks you want, place the tanks and populate them with fish. You can do this with too options.
Fish for them yourself, using the boat that is in the sea. This can be tricky to start with, because it doesn't go very far, due to lack of research. It will progress further though, when you have completed some reasearch.
Or you can buy them. There is a good selection and the prices are not too bad.
Hire staff, such as cleaners, guides, fishermen and trainers. The selection of staff you have is sufficient. Then sucessfully run and manage the aquarium.
This is all about obtaining interesting fish, by either catching them or buying them. It doesn't matter which.

All the information that you need, can befound on the disc, in the help files. I found there to be a lot of reading. I think the concept of this game is good, but the actual game, isn't. It has that "rushed" feel to it. It could be a lot better than it is. A manual, to start with would have been nice.
I am 22 and i was really dissapointed with it. It seems to me to be a very complex game.
The graphics, i feel, where very basic. No depth to them at all. Everything looks flat too me. It is colourful, but that is about it.
You can not zoom in or out and you can not change your view or the screen at all.
The manual issue was a big problem for me. Every game should have a manual.
There is a lot of reading to be done for you to play this game. Unfortunatly, if you don't want to spend ages printing all of it out, you will have to sit at your computer for ages, reading it.
At £6.99 it will not break the bank.
I personaly did not enjoy this game. I therefore do not think it was great value.
Advantages: The only game so far that attempts to re-create fishkeeping on this scale Disadvantages: Too much guesswork and little logic, Poorly written
...so when I came across Aquarium (a management sim where you run your own public aquarium), I thought I couldn't go far wrong. How wrong can I be?
This game has been cobbled together using the Theme Hospital engine which should have been a plus, but the programmers just didn't do anything with it's potential.
The rest of the game seems to have been just thrown together in order to quickly get the game on the shelves.
Due to the rudimentary graphics, ... ...would like to set your aquarium up in. Then give it a name. The country you pick dictates the type of fish you can get in the early going.
When you start the game, you find yourself looking at an empty building. You have to right click to bring up the toolbar, which then appears, blotting out the game area so you can't see the background. Luckily, the game pauses, but the toolbar works like a tree, with new windows opening each time you select an ...

Advantages: It looks good on the shop shelf. Disadvantages: No fun!
They say that if you don’t have anything nice to say then you should say nothing at all, but if that were the case this product would receive very few opinions.
I love management games, I love creative games. In theory ‘Aquarium’ for the PC should span both arenas. Unfortunately, it fails in both.
The object of the game is to build and manage your own Sea Life Centre. There is nothing misleading about what it says on the box. The game is exactly ... ...not warn you that somehow they have managed to squeeze the fun out of it.
The box is attractive and from the outside it would appeal to many gamers with my tastes. However, the box is about the most entertaining thing about this game. Mine came in the more modern DVD style box and because of this I mistakenly thought it would match up to modern management game standards.
You will notice that this Opinion talks more about the box than the game play. ...
