They say that if you don’t have anything nice to say then you should say nothing at all, but if that were the case this product would receive very few opinions.

I love management games, I love creative games. In theory ‘Aquarium’ for the PC should span both arenas. Unfortunately, it fails in both.

The object of the game is to build and manage your own Sea Life Centre. There is nothing misleading about what it says on the box. The game is exactly as it states; it’s just that the box cover does not warn you that somehow they have managed to squeeze the fun out of it.

The box is attractive and from the outside it would appeal to many gamers with my tastes. However, the box is about the most entertaining thing about this game. Mine came in the more modern DVD style box and because of this I mistakenly thought it would match up to modern management game standards.

You will notice that this Opinion talks more about the box than the game play. This should speak for itself!

The graphics are flat and lifeless and are more reminiscent of gaming 10 years ago. Although the graphics are a little similar to those used in Theme Hospital, Theme hospital was fun and entertaining and I kept on playing that game. I tried a few times to drag up some enthusiasm for ‘Aquarium’ (to use it enough to get my moneys worth) but life is too short. There is very little to peak your interest here.

More often than not I can find something in a game to keep me interested. I failed dismally in my attempt with ‘Aquarium’ for the PC.

Minimum PC requirements are:
Operating System Windows 95/98
Memory 64 MB RAM
Hard Drive 165 MB
DirectX Version 7.0a
Processor Intel Pentium MMX – 166 MHZ
CD-DVD 4 speed
Graphics 4 MB
