A trigon in each corner?
Advantages: Quality (its German) Disadvantages: I couldn't fit the bigger one (350) in instead
...are as easy to get, Juwel produce their own to fit. For cleaning the curved front i would suggest a nylon scourer pad (check it will not scratch glass first though!) rather than a scraper or nylon block, as the corners may graze the glass. The filter provided is a basic submersible which sits in the back corner and does not detract from the overall picture, this also houses the supplied heater. This unit can be removed by cutting the silicon which ...

Reef One Biorb 30litres (tropical)
Advantages: Easy to use, Good looking and great value for Money. Disadvantages: The leaflet says add your fish after 24 hours of treating the water, I would say 2 weeks!
...this dream. The biorb from reef one is enabling many people to beable to keep fish easily and with the least fuss possible. You can be sure keeping your fish in here will, with common sense, allow them to lead a healthy longterm life. The package includes everything which you will need. The biorb system, Ceramic media (rocks), An external air pump, Water conditioner/ Treatment, Even a trial sachet of fish food!, and if you brought the tropical aquarium ... ...This is a great enviroment to keep fish as it has an effective filteration system, infact three; 1.Chemical-When setting up and making water changes, you add a sachet of water conditioner, which lasts for 3 weeks at a time. 2. Biological -This is about 100 small rocks, which are called "ceramic media", which sit at the bottom, allow good bacteria to flourish and get rid of the nasty nitrates in the water, which will harm your fish. 3.Mechanical- ...

For the newest additions to the Barrow clan!
Advantages: A funky modern design, perfect for children. Disadvantages: Doesn't stop the fish from pooing!
After a particularly nasty accident involving my daughter Kaitlin’s birthday goldfish and a plastic spiky plant that came with her original tank, she has been “mother” to a single goldfish called Flan (don’t ask, lol!), and has had to come to terms with Fishflake being flushed down the toilet!
As it is Kaitlin’s last day off school today (Monday, teachers training day…grrr!), we decided to try and get a playpal for Flan, and perhaps a filter for ... ...laughter at my daughter giving the fish a b**llocking for being very “pooey and smelly!”.
After getting to our preferred place of purchasing fish (A5 Aquatics), and spending a good ˝ hour deciding on a fish, we discovered that buying a starter aquarium, complete with everything you would need, would be a cheaper option than buying a stand alone filter.
The tank and kit I will now review is - “Elite, 10 litre goldfish aquarium set”
The first things ...

Great aquariums overall...
Advantages: An all in one aquarium, biofilters are excellent, boasts strong lighting Disadvantages: Lighting hasn't been particularly reliable in my Tropiquarium 68 or 88
Having owned both the Tropiquarium 68, and 88, I feel myself now qualified to review the Tropiquarium range. The basics Dimensions: 85 x 37 x 48.5h in cm Capacity: 130 L (34.33 U.S. gal) Equipment - Heater: Tronic - 200 W Filtration: BioLife Lighting: Fluorescent Canopy with 2 bulbs Automatic light timer They are constructed with strong 6 mm glass, on a plastic rim which lifts the glass of the surface - reducing the risk of cracking when moving The ... ...run off one plug - practical - but not ideal if something breaks inside...Good luck getting in, I say! There is a digital controller (built into the hood) for both temperature and light timing - both handy tools, making the maintenance easier. There is also a feeding hole, so to speak, which has a small removable plug. This is only an inch in diameter, and so you may end up spilling food on the lid. There is also a knock out plate to add on a Nutramatic ...

I'm torn, is it worth it?
Advantages: Good size, stylish, reasonably priced, great storage Disadvantages: Filter and silicone a possible eyesore, faulty light bars and powerheads, bowing tanks
I will begin this review by saying that I do in fact not own a Juwel rio 300, but the larger, next step up (100 litres more) version of the 'rio' range, I am also reviewing the slightly older model(s), and not the new recently released rio 300.Essentially this is still the same aquarium, however. I have also been keeping fish since a young child, and at present have 8 various fish tanks. General The aquarium is a good size, which you should be able ... ...in volume, otherwise known as 66 imperial (uk gallons) and 79 us gallons. The dimensions are 121 x 51 x 62 cm. As with all aquariums from Juwel you get 3 different colour designs to choose from, each keeping the same overall style, the modern contemporary look, meaning they can blend in with most furniture. You can choose from Black, Beech, or my personal favourite dark-wood. Equipment The brand new versions have 'revamped', so to speak, equipment, ...
