In the last 10 years I’ve changed 4 motorbikes and many many helmets: this year I’ve decided to buy an Arai NR-3 after having the opportunity to try a Quantum F for a few months.
I toght it was time to buy an helmet not for the look, but for having the best safety!
First I would like to say that Arai helmets have different prices but the same quality and protection power. You can buy other good helmets, expecially FM and Shoei, but most of the bikers know that Arai is the best for one main thing: the shell!
The Arai one piece superfibre laminate constructed shell, combines styling with protection.
The helmet is constructed in such way that the energy of a severe impact is absorbed through partial destruction of the shell and the inner shell.
In general two kinds of materials are used for the outer shell of helmets: one is thermo-injected plastic, the other is reinforced resin material better known as fibreglass. Arai only uses “Super Glass fibre” for the shell, one of the best glassfibres for strength, 40% stronger for extension and bending resistance than normal fibreglass.
The Arai shell is subjected to infinite series of tests, many more than the ones required in Europe for the homologation (European standard), noone can deny that Arai has got the best shell compared to other helmets!
The visor is also fantastic. You can take it and fold it in every direction, it won’t break! If you do the same thing with another helmet it will break off in millions of pieces!
The comfort material is made of urethane foam, covered with nylon webbing. In combination with the inner shell it provides a snug and comfortable fit, which is of course important for the safety; the entire interior is washable!
The chin strap is made of tight woven nylon webbing with a double "D" ring, acknowledged as the safest retention system. The chin strap has a small push button to attach the red strap end, which can only be fastened if the chin strap has been tightened in the proper way. If the button is closed without looping through both double "D" rings, it can easily be noticed, because the chin strap will feel sloppy as a warning.
Everything for 1,3 Kg!!!!
Three years of warranty… Arai Warranty!
It costs a lot of money, but I think my thoughts' value exceed £400....
Well, I hope so :)
Ciao

Protect your little grey cells.
Review of Arai Quantum/f Helmet by
Arbrette
Advantages: Lightweight but seriously well made! Excellent ventilation reduces misting. Little wind noise. Great designs.
Disadvantages: I found chinstrap fastening a bit tricky with cold fingers!
This is serious headgear, designed with your brain in mind! Ok, so not everyone is that concerned about their grey cells, but as a biker who has spend hundred of hours on ambulance duty at motocross, speedway and track events, as well as picking the odd piece of human off the roads, I would say that it is not a pleasant sight to watch someone suffering from skull damage! This helmet is designed to absorb the impact if you do come off. The specifications ... ...is a helmet that will probably save your life and certainly save you from severe damage if your head hits that road. Ok, you can get cheaper – but you can’t buy brain replacements yet. On the everyday side, the designs are great, colourful and eye-catching to other road users; just what you want! The ventilation can fiddly to get right, but you do not mist up, and it deflects rain once you get to 40+, just dip your head and go! Giving ...

The best Head Protection Money can buy
Review of Arai Quantum/f Helmet by
Bikerman
Advantages: Light, Great Colours, Comfortable, Very Strong
Disadvantages: Chips quite easily
I bought myself an Arai Quantum/f helmet about 6 weeks ago.
In my opinion, it was £400 well spent. Go for the Crafar Rep, they don't seem to be so common.
If you wan't a black visor, visit www.thevisorshop.com, they can ship you one in a couple of days.
The helmet is comfortable, easy to get on, and great at reducing the wind noise I experienced with my old Nolan helmet.
Just watch out your mates don't try and steal it from you!
To keep clean, ...
