Advantages: Jilly Cooper is back with another outstanding novel following the adventures of the people of Rutshire Disadvantages: There are none!
...Being a huge fan of JC, I rushed out to buy this as soon as I knew it was out. It's another brilliant novel by JillyCooper, about a head teacher brought in to turn around a failing comprehensive school. She joins forces with a local public school and the fun starts there! Some of the characters from JillyCooper's previous novels make an appearance, such as the utterly handsome Rupert Campbell-Black and his adorable second wife, Taggie and we finally get to know their two adopted children, Bianca and Xavier who are both now at posh Bagley Hall; the awful Hermione Harefield makes a return, as does her son Cosmo, who is now a very machevillian 14 year old and seems to take after his late father, the evil conductor Roberto Rannaldini. There are also some great new characters and JillyCooper manages to intertwine them effortlessly...

Advantages: Twists and turns, keeps you guessing Disadvantages: None
...For those that love Rupert, Rannaldini, Tab, Jake, Taggie, and all the others...They're back! This is Jilly's best so far. I am an avid fan of JillyCooper, and unlike my friends, I am not ashamed to admit it!!! The problem with these books is that you are so desperate to find out what happens, that they end too fast!! Score! is a mix of music, horse racing, relationships and.....murder! THe suspense is carried all the way through, with things going drastically wrong at every turn, yet there still being room for romance, but remember, with JillyCooper, there's no such thing as a happy marriage. I am not going to tell you too much as this book will keep you guessing. One thing to say though is READ IT!...

Advantages: Clever, fun and unputdownable Disadvantages: None
...JillyCooper is a genius, and this is, by common consent, one of her best novels. 'Riders' is blockbusting fiction that anyone can read, however much they usually sneer at this genre; she is highly regarded by critics and a number of English Literature professors. 'Riders' is a compelling read, introducing readers to the the sexy, charismatic Rupert Campbell-Black and galloping through a fast-paced plot of sex, show jumping and witty social satire to a touching denouement. Even people who have no interest in horses will be interested, although the book would probably be less attractive to people who have no interest in sex. Read this before any other JillyCooper book; it comes before 'Rivals', 'Polo' etc in her sequence of Gloucestershire/Rutshire novels, and is an ideal introduction to her oeuvre....
