...The silver slender looking Arcam CD82 Compact Disc Player is a mid-range CD player that has been designed and built to act as the ideal half-way point between the CD72 and CD92 in the Diva range. My brother has owned one for a fair while now and the CD82 is an extremely capable CD player. The box to the CD player informs us that state of the art audiophile design techniques are incorporated. Apparently, these are commonly found on players which would normally cost consumers thousands of pounds to purchase. The helpful instruction manual that comes with it informs us that the CD player utilizes very high quality Burr Brown op-amps in the output stage. Advantages: Record over and over again, high quality, Compact
Disadvantages: 2 play in video you need a dv casstee convertor

...Mini DV tapes are great... And the best thing is you can record over them as many times as you like over and over again and you still get a high quality picture. Well what about my experience: Having brought a DV Camcorder I wanted to buy DV Tapes.. So rather than just buying any DV Tape I started to do my research like I normally do when I buy any of my products. I searched online (Googling IT) for DV Tapes that where of a high quality and which had a perfect playback quality. While searching over the net I came across a few DV Tape makes such as Fuji, DVC, Sony, Maxell & TDK Having read reviews about the products like I normally do, I decided to go down to my local Argos store and buy TDK DVM-60 MiniDV Tapes for £7.99. Advantages: the leader in DV products
Disadvantages: a few but mainly to do with the tech not the product

...As requested by a few i will explain DV. The intials DV stand for Digital Vidoecassette. As with everything else on the market at the moment digital seems to be the way to go. There are a couple of problems, the tapes them selves are normally not too expensive retailing at 12 quid for a 90 min tape. however the one shown is a 180 with ic chip. this in simple terms means that it is designed for longer recordings and has a memory chip to keep recordings intact. another problem is the hardware these tapes use. The sony PD150 camera retails at £2000 which means generally this format of recording is designed for professionals. The problem with DV is that every one seems to be scared of the whole idea. This is stupid as DV is based around the idea of the normal tapes that you place into your camcoder everyday, with one big exception... Read review
