I have only recently discovered this drink and it ha now become my favourite alcopops, it tastes much nicer than the others around.

The Price

I bought my latest 70cl (the big bottle!) for £2.99 from Tescos. As this is the alcopop don't get excited (I did when I was in the shop before I realised it wasn't the spirit version) and is the peach flavour. This is comparable to the other major supermarkets, although I'm sure I saw it for about £1 in Sainsburys last week.

The Bottle

It is a very cute looking bottle, mainly in frosted white colour with clear circles cut out so you can see the liquid (also clear). The main colour accent is orange on the bottle top and most of the main lettering is orange. It is 5% alcohol, and to drink the entire bottle would be 3.5 units. I think it is quite a sexy bottle actualy! The bottle is designed to be easy to handle (for those drunken moments so you won't drop it as it is glass!) and overall, it looks very cool to look at.

The Taste

The bottle says it is "a sparkling blend of archers schnapps with the crisp taste of peach". I think this is a fair description of the taste actually. I find you can drink this for a long time before you will begin to taste any alcohol, when you start drinking this I never taste the archers in it, only the peach. To me (I'm not an alcoholic or anything!), this tastes like a really pleasant soft drink, that I could dirnk for much of the day or at dinner. The peach is very crisp as the bottle says, you can definately taste the peach and smell the peach. It's not a sublte hint they added at the end, they have got the blend between the Archers and peach balanced very well. I love this, its much nicer than any other alcopops around.

The Effect

Obviously drinking alcohol will eventually have and affect on the drinker! I find that I can have atleast 3 glasses of the stuff (or 2.5 mini bottles) before I notice mysef get a bit giggly, and I only really drink once a week. However, the only time I was ever sick after drinking was after drinking Archers (this was the spirit version though) so I guess all I can say is don't drink too much just because you don't think it is getting you drunk, it will eventually! For most though, it means you can drink a really yummy alcopop without the owrry of embarassing yourself and being a bit drunk!

Overall

I think this is a really yummy drink, that tastes like soft drink to me. The price is really good (packs of four mini bottles also available) and if you are careful there will be no ill effects(drunkeness!). I have to give this 5 stars as it cannot be beaten!

Please do not drink to excess, I am not promoting binge drinking!
