Archers Peach Schnapps is a 21% liquor with a strong peach flavour and aroma. The drink itself is clear in colour and presented in a standard clouded glass bottle, usually sold in 70cl and 1 litre bottles in all mainstream supermarkets and many smaller off licenses.
While not popularly drunk on its own like many other liquors such as 'scotch on the rocks', this fruity liquor is best tasted with a mixture of both alcohol, mixers and juices. This makes it an ideal drink to use in many cocktails, such as the famous and well known Sex on the Beach and Ruby Cooler.
I would have to say that the most popular drink however is Archers and Lemonade which almost all bar would sell. With lemonade being such a cheap mixer it makes it a cheaper drink for a night out. Compared to drinks such as Vodka and Redbull, the Redbull is an expensive drink as it is, yet its being mixed with another expensive liquor.
While it can be drank through winter and other seasons it is most popular in the summer because of its fruity appeal.
So what other alternatives are there to the Archers Peach Schnapps, that retails at around £11 for a 70cl bottle? I personally have tried several others and while most are not anywhere near the quality I feel I have found one to compliment.
Tesco have recently brought out their very own 'Discount Brand' Peach Schnapps. As it is not usually drank on its own, and is with other drinks, the taste of the liquor alone is not that important. With a mixture of juices or mixers the Tesco Discount Brand tastes just as nice in my opinion. However as a warning it is a little heavier on the throat if drank on its own, but like mentioned this isn't a popular way of drinking it. Retailing at just £5 for a 70cl bottle its half the price of a standard Archers Schnapps. Therefore if you are on a budget it is just as nice of a drink.
I give this drink 4/5 stars due to its beautiful taste, especially in the summer, and also due to its high quality. However the one star I don't give it is for the cheaper alternatives that can actually turn out to be just as nice is presented correctly.
