Advantages: Innovative interface to creating 3D CAD for architecture Disadvantages: Next to useless for anything but architexture
I've been using ArchiCAD for 6 months now, and have overall been ery impressed by the product. It's a 3D CAD system geared towards the architecture sector. Unfortuanately however, it is next to useless for anything but acrhitecture. The good news is however, that for architecture it is very good. The inteface takes a bit of getting used to, and you need a powerful machine to get the best out of it. ArchiCAD comes with some great renderers from Viewpoint, ... ...it's realism you're after, you can export ArchiCAD files to another format and render them with another 3rd party render.
ArchiCAD comes with excellent documentation in the form of a PDF file.
Overall though, a very impressive package with an innovative interface to creating 3D CAD for architecture. ...
