The whole design is easy to look at and to use, the display is good but hold at the wrong angle and it is hard to see the dark parts of a video. The software is easy to use but could do with a bit of user input to make it even better. Listening to music is clear and takes all different types of files from Music to Video. You can also use it to read PDF files. The Archos 404 also allows you to put add ons either software or hardware (AVI playback, camera's) you can also buy a devise that allows you to use the 404 as a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) which gets the programme information via the internet. The whole this is also light and compact. Battery life is not brilliant but does last at least 8 hours of music playing.
Personally i like this better than the iPod

Bad points Display on movies can be dark even at full display Battery not good with AVI and movie files The folder system can get confusing Costs money to put software add on's

Advantages: Looks Cool / stores loads of data / not to big / long battery life Disadvantages: screen can scratch quite easy so recomend you get a protector
