Advantages: Great screen quality and size, built in speaker and stand. Disadvantages: The only downside is that it is fragile, and can be hard to get used to the on screen keyboard.
"Archos 605 Wifi"
This product is certainly an eye catching piece, when pulling this Archos out of your pocket in a social environment then you are sure to be asked questions about it. The first thing you may notice is the screen, it is a high resolution screen, 800x480 pixels, 4.3'' TFT LCD touch screen. It is an absolute crystal clear picture and watching movies or viewing pictures is so pleasing when you can see every last detail with out any blur or fuzziness. If watching videos is what you want from your portable device then Archos 605 or any Archos is a good choice. It is also possible to buy a DVR Station from Archos or any technology shop or electrical retailer. This device allows you to record live TV be it Sky, Virgin media or terrestrial TV. You can then play the recorded items back on the TV through the DVR station ...

Advantages: Great size screen, generous amount of memory, simple interface Disadvantages: Chunky design, not as portable as some devices,
have a problem with the unit freezing but a recent firmware upgrade cured this problem. Also pressing the "lock keys" button at the top of the handset used to cause it to reset however this has been rectified by a firmware update.
Overall this is a massively competent real alternative to the Ipod and should be considered by anyone looking for a feature heavy portable media player but avoided by those put off by its size or unfamiliar interface. Plugins can be purchased to enjoy this unit to the full extent priced in Euros and available from the Archos website they do extend the features greatly ( Web browser allowing the unit to use its Wifi and an access point to become internet enabled), though without them it does not prevent it from being a serious contender. ...
Advantages: Touch screen, large memory, great screen resolution, wireless internet. Disadvantages: Maximum volume could be better through the in-built speakers
The Archos 705 WIFI is probably one of my favourite purchases of the last 18 months.
For its fantastically wide range of features including a touch screen, wireless internet, hard drive video storage (recordings can be made directly from a tv), photo storage and a great music library, this is the best value for money Multi-media player I have come across.
The Archos comes with lots of accessories including a car headrest mounting case which is great for when your trying to entertain the kids in the back of the car on long journeys.
Its memory is around 40gb which is quite large for its size and allows you to store thousands of songs and around many hours of videos.
The resolution is also extremely impressive. ...
