Archos AV4100 Pocket Video Recorder 100 GB

I bougth my 80GB archos av400 in novemebr last year for £400 and since then ive had no problems with it, apart from once when the screen froze during a long recording. Other than that i love it, its got alot more features than its competitors and its got the style to go with the talent.

1) Video Player

The main Feature of Archos's Device is its ability to play video's downloaded from the net, recorded from a video camera ...
...you're in luck, because the archos incorporates a built in compact flash drive which can then take your pictures you've taken and show them on the LCD screen, or even better on your TV without having to move any files from the card. It's a nice feature if your cameras ran out of battery and you want to show someone some pics.

The main Feature of Archos's Device is its ability to play video's downloaded from the net, recorded from a video camera or recorded from a TV. It has excellent screen quality and can store and record DVD quality films. Which can then be viewed on the LCD screen, A PC or another TV. The version i bought is the 80GB so it has alot of storage and i have already stored 10 full lenght films and my whole music collections and have harly took a chunk out of the storage.

This device replaces any VCR or DVD recorder you currently have. It does the job of both. Not only can your record thing directly from your TV, you can also set the player to record your favourite programs by telling it what time and channel to record. The videos can then be kept on the player or transferred to a pc and then a DVD or VCD.

We all have old video tapes that we will miss when video recorders aren't used any more; well this gives you the chance to save them. All you have to do is record the video while it's playing and it goes from an analogue medium straight to digital. You can then put it on your PC and even a DVD.

An obvious feature is its MP3 player, which i even think is better than a device that is builty soely for that purpose e.g. ipod. The reason i think this is for a start, it has larger storage than most MP3 players. It also has a built in speaker so you can listen to your music with freinds and when you dont have any speakers or earphones. Another grewat thing about its MP3 player is the user interface. Not only do you get the track name, artist lenght of track etc. You get a picture of the album cover, assuming all your MP3's have the right tags ;) you also get a bar at the bottom telling you how long the song has played, how long is left, the next track etc. It really is a great user interface, and easy to use aswell.

This replaces the need for floppy disks, flash cards, zip disks and any portable hard drives. All your data can be stored and transferred using this. You can even use it to back up your entire computer. What a great device
