Definitely my favourite mp3 player. It's very small compared to most alternatives with similar capacity, and, once you know how, it is extremely easy to use.
Originally I found it difficult to find my round this player, but once you understand you appreciate the intelligent way the player operates. The settings are easy to find and use as the link shows up when switched on, as well as the link to music. Music can be played as 'Folder' 'All' 'Single' 'Queue' or 'Scan'. Each of these can then be put on to 'Normal' 'Repeat' or 'Shuffle'. This said, I only ever use 'Shuffle' and 'All' or 'Folder'.
I have also never had an mp3 player start up so quickly - and with such a large capacity! It has a lock so the songs cannot be changed when it's in a pocket or something. However while it is on lock the sound can still be changed (using the joystick) and I am yet to decided if this an advantage or not.
My favourite thing about this player is that it acts like a memory stick. Music (and other files) can be transferred across from computer to player and back again, unlike some other mp3 players. This uses a drag-and-drop method.
I also like how the names and positions of songs can be adjusted on the player itself by going to the 'Browser' option.
However, I have found the screen to be quite weak and sensitive. I am on my second Archos Gmini XS 202s because the screen bled on my first one, and I do not know why. Possibly to do with excessive pressure or heat. Nevertheless, my second one has been fine.
I also occasionally find the bright blue 'On' light really irritating! But this can be solved with a well-placed thumb.
My only other complaint is that the joystick is the only way to move through artists, and this can take a while compared to a scroller. However, it does speed up if it is held down so this is very minor.
Overall, a very successful player which I am very happy with.
