and click 'get album artwork' - this did take a while... but worked! Whilst coverflow looks nice I don't think it adds extra functionality to the IPod... more a space draining quirk! It does look awesome though ;-)
Sound playback is the usual high standard - but this is really down to you, the user - I have all my imported (off CD) music set to apple loss-less. Which will take up more space, but with 160 GIGS to play with... it is not a great deal more! It must be said - the headphones supplied are useless... get some Sennheiser CX300 - the added clarity is noticeable - and you do not need it as loud! The hat trick is that the ear buds stay in my ear when I am working out.
Video playback; to test this I ripped Family Guy from dvd to IPod using the ImToo software package. Quality was good - but KILLS your battery! So not ideal ...
Advantages: Very nice and relatively light high storage addon Disadvantages: plastic.... "feeling hot hot hot " springs to mind.

a most excellent harddrive... any how. I have no gripes about this unit apart from the heat problems, but keep it cool, by not having it on constantly and you should be fine. Another thing is there is no on/off button which i find rather inpractical to have to keep unplugging it all the time !
When i brought this it was £180, but i am sure its alot cheaper now, if you just want something that will do the occassinal backup, its a good harddrive, if its more intense use check the link above. ...
