With 300g is the Copper Lite still within the AMD specifications and therefore one of the lightest low noise coolers. This lowers the risk to damage the DIE significantly. A 10mm high Cu Core transfers the heat from the CPU to the Aluminium heatsink most efficient. A 78 x 80 mm heatsink with 30 fins offers highest surface area. The patented "reversed- hanging" fan is able to practically eliminate the typical buzzing sound of 80mm fans. The Fan has been mounted onto 4 Rubber supports to stop vibrations being transmitted to the heat sink. The Copper Lite offers the best Performance / Noise ratio of its weight class. An especially developed clip offers a more accurate point of pressure, is very easy to fasten by a screw and can't fall off during transport due to its construction.
Advantages: Cools CPU's well, Adjustable speed, Quiet, Good Instructions Disadvantages: Very large.
...or take 10%. I find you don’t need it on high speed because it’s such a good heat sink, only really hot CPU’s would need high speed fan cooling as well. Again, it depends on your system. You might want to take note that some motherboards will not boot if the rpm of the CPU fan is too low, so start it off about half way.
Anything Else?
Well the thermal grease is easy to apply and there’s enough for a few applications if you change CPU. The thing comes well boxed, and as I said before, has all sorts of fittings to make it widely compatible.
Conclusion:
Great fan, great heatsink. Looks rather extreme, but keeps CPU at arctic degrees. Ease of installation depends on your CPU. Instructions are good. Makes tasks inside your case a bit harder due to its size. Works quietly, but has speed control if temperatures get a little high. I thought...

Advantages: Very cool, easy to install Disadvantages: copper on the cpu side far from mirror ( needs a polish )
...Test system:
processor - AMD Athlon FX62 (2 x 2800 MHz / 125W TDP)
motherboard - ASUS M2N32 DeLuxe Wireles Edition (passive cooling system with HeatPipe)
Cooler is very easy to install just one lever.
More experienced users will probably remove thermal compound and polish the surface of the cooler ( it is far from being a mirror ) and then apply high quality thermal compound.
This will give You another 1-2 C less and faster cooling down after stress.
all tests were done using Zalman STG 1 ( high quality thermal compound )
Temperature readings after 60 minutes in idle:
Akasa AK-876 37
ArcticCooling 64PRO 38
Scythe Katana II 39
Temperature readings after 60 minutes in 100% load:
Akasa AK-876 56
ArcticCooling 64PRO 58
Scythe Katana II 61

Advantages: Cheap, Effective, Lightweight. Disadvantages: No manual speed control, Size could be a problem on some boards.
...I recently upgraded my CPU to a retail version AMD 64, that comes with the standard cooler and fan. I found it to be very noisy and decided I needed a quieter CPU cooler. After looking at various options, and not having lots to spend, I decided on the ArcticCooling Silencer 64 Ultra TC that retails at under £10.00.
This heatsink is suitable for socket 754/939/940 AMD Athlon CPU's, BUT is 15mm wider than the standard heatsink, so make sure there is room on your motherboard before ordering one.
The box that the it comes in also contains a motherboard retention module, a tube of Artic cooling MX-1 High performance thermal compound, a case sticker and a small sheet of notes, that is printed in English and German. The fitting instructions are printed on the back of the box.
The cooler.
The heatsink itself is made of aluminum...

I bought this cooler the other day on Amazon and it arrived today, thankfully 20 minutes after my new cpu did.
The first thing that struck me was that the fan is positioned to the side of the heatsink rather than on top of it. Thus blowing hot air... more
I bought this cooler a few months back now so have had a long experiance using it, so far it has amazed me.
My idle temperatures of my CPU went down around 10 degrees from the stock AMD cooler and my temperature at full load went down even more!... more
