Advantages Advantages Very quiet when idle, comes with thermal paste, good conductivity

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite noisy at higher RPMs, tricky to install

Cooling fans are one of the more important components in any modern computer but at the same time are commonly overlooked by people looking at building a new computer. Long gone are the times when a centimeter slab of metal could be dropped onto your CPU, and you wouldn't have to worry about cooling; instead you're looking at strapping a block of carefully constructed aluminium that sits like a skyscraper on your motherboard and a huge fan just to stop the little silicon chip beneath it exploding. Think of it like the radiator in a car. The reason CPU heatsinks and fans are usually overlooked ... more

    Advantages Advantages cheap and quiet

    Disadvantages Disadvantages installation nightmare

I bought this cooler the other day on Amazon and it arrived today, thankfully 20 minutes after my new cpu did. The first thing that struck me was that the fan is positioned to the side of the heatsink rather than on top of it. Thus blowing hot air through the fins of the heatsink, which has the added advantage of cooling the electical transistors on the motherboard. The heatsink also came with thermal paste already in place which made things easier. After my old generic fan (that came with my medion pc) this seems so quiet, its unbelievable. A few times today I have thought the pc was not ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, Powerfull and efficient

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit fiddly to install

I upgraded to this Heat sink Fan unit from an Akasa one and the difference in temperatures was great! With the Akasa model i was peaking on full load at 62 degrees Celsius and with the new Arctic Freezer 7 Pro i am now peaking on full load at 46 degrees Celsius. (My tower also has 3 additional cooling fans as well so i had to point it out.) The Fan being mounted on the side of the Heat sink is a great idea as heat naturally rises. Also the fins at the bottom of the heat sink direct airflow towards the motherboard components which helps keep them cool. When this initially arrived in the post i ... more

Advantages Advantages Extremely Quiet, Patented Vibration Absorption, Easy Installation, 6 Years Warranty

Disadvantages Disadvantages No fan speed controller

The Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro has a huge 92mm silent fan which keeps airspeed to a minimum, but maximizes airflow. It has a total of 6 heat pipes, which bring heat from the CPU and spread it evenly through the fins of the heat sink. The hot air will travel directly out of your PC case, whereas stock CPU fans just blow the hot air around. This product is recommended for any gamer which does not want to over clock their system, but who still wants to keep it at healthy temperature levels, especially when the CPU is on a full load.
