Argos 12 bottle wooden wine rack

~A product that has something to do with wine....this could be interesting!~

This Argos 12 Bottle Wooden Wine Rack has been sitting in my kitchen for that long I almost forgot it was there. Back in the day when it was new, I always made sure it was full of lots of bottles of lovely wine. But that was then, and this is now and these days it usually sits empty, kicked into the corner of the room.

When I first saw this wine rack in the Argos catalogue I was quite impressed, that was back in the day when I never bothered to read reviews. it was a case of that looks nice I'll buy it. I have learned my lesson now, before I buy anything I read consumer reviews on the product, it saves me wasting my money and being disappointed later on.

The instructions said minimal assembly required, I guess I must have been reading it upside down then. The measurements for the wine rack are H32, W32, D18cm.

I remember getting home with this wine rack and opening the box, to find lots of bit's of wood in plastic bags. Well where do I start.....putting this thing together was like some kind of (Advanced) Japanese puzzle! with a little tube of wood glue thrown in for good measure. The wine rack came in so many individual pieces and the instructions were useless. However I wasn't going to let it beat me and so I sat for what seemed like forever pushing and pulling all the little pieces of wood together, until I was satisfied is somewhat resembled what it looked like in the catalogue.

~Looks can be deceiving~

For some reason, I wasn't that keen on it anymore, now it was assembled and I could see it for what it was, in the flesh so to speak. I decided it would look better with some bottles of wine sat on it. I guess it did sort of look alright once I had sat it where it was going to live, and put some bottles of wine on it. I don't really know what I was expecting from this wine rack if I'm honest, I was just disappointed with it. It was really difficult to put together then once it was put together it was slightly wobbly, but I guess that was probably my own fault, I'm not the best at putting things together especially when they come from Argos!

The wood the wine rack is made up of is unfinished pine (supposedly) and once assembled the rack will hold 12 bottles of average sized bottles of wine, well small bottles if I want to be picky. In the beginning I made sure I had at least 5 bottles of wine on it at a time, but over time I really couldn't be bothered with it and the wine rack just got ignored. It was moved from it's home and shoved in a corner, out the way. I never dared to take it apart because if I do ever want to use it again it will take me forever to put it back together again. So it does still remain in one piece, I have to say it has lasted well, it does remain wobbly however and I find it quite an eyesore these days. If I'm honest I haven't used it for quite a while and I don't really have any intentions of using it.

~Other information~

I can't even remember how much I paid for this wine rack, but the price for this wine rack now is £4.99 from Argos. I'm sure I paid more than that!

2 stars for the Argos 12 bottle wooden wine rack, I really don't personally like it anymore but I'm giving it 2 stars because it's seen some abuse over the years and it's still standing after all this time.
